  • Roll Call 5/18/09 Monday....

    Just another Monday here. As most of you remember, I hate Mondays.

    I'm doing well and on plan. Have to weigh in later but so far holding my own with the 50 lbs lost. Looking for the 170's soon and am really excited about that!!

    Hope you all have a great day...as far as Monday's go for those of you still in the working world! For the rest of you, you have no choice but to have a great day!!

    I'm also a hater of Mondays. Trying hard to generate a positive attitude in order to have a decent day. Not as prepared as I should be with prepared foods for breakfast & lunch. I will be cooking when I get home.

      Trying to rush through my breakfast before I head out for my walk.

      I am also a member of the Monday-Haters Club!! lol Mondays at my work suck .. end of story. Only good part of it .. it only lasts 8 hours.

        Good morning everybody. 2 of my workouts canceled on me, so I'm the only one up this early in my house. I've been up since 5.
        I am presently working towards certification as a fitness trainer. I joined a 3 month weight loss program at the local gym, integrating exercise and nutrition. I took this program on because I wanted to see what's out there and what is being taught at the gym level.
        I'm a silent fan of all things low carb.
        I found it quite interesting how they want us to go "low carb" for 2 weeks to jump start weight loss. So many women freaked, but the trainer held to the line. 1,500 cal. No added sugars, and no carbs after 3p. The carb list was oatmeal, sweet potatoes and brown rice, period. No fruit for 2 weeks. The women were freaking out.
        I just smiled, thinking, "oh it could be worst, much much worse for you babies!" But if it were then they would get into the most awesome zone that low carb takes you to.
        It's a journey and an interesting one. Teaching how starches turn to sugar and are stored as fat. I smiled to myself

          Happy Monday everybody! About to have breakfast and put in 8 hours work. No exercise today since I take Monday's off, instead I'm using tonight for laundry.
          What I do:
          Elliptical gym machine 1 hr Tue-Sun
          At 320, switch to cycling on my Trek 500
          2 filtered containers water/day
          Daily salads/veggies


          Goals:

          Stop needing High Blood Pressure meds - DONE!
          Workout in a XXXL shirt
          - DONE!
          Workout in a XXL shirt
          Workout in a XL shirt
          270 on the scales

            Good Morning STAC'ers!

            I usually do not like Monday's either, but, since I've been out of school for the last 2 weeks I'm enjoying them! Monday's are usually a clinical day for me.

            Day 13 of induction for me..all cheat free! Gonna go to my friends house today and visit for a bit. While I'm there I'm gonna check out her exercise bike and maybe do a few miles!

              Good Morning guys! Well I used to hate Monday's but all of the staff at our office had to take a 20% pay cut which translated into a day of work. We got to choose which day we got off and I chose Monday! So I'm at home, getting ready to eat breakfast and go to the gym! Sorry for all you Monday grindstone pushers!

              Oh yeah, I made my first goal of 159 this morning! Yay!

                Good Morning Everyone!

                I'm back at work after a busy and fun weekend. My FH graduated with his Bachelor's Degree this weekend, so I threw him a surprise party/cook-out at our house. A lot of our friends made it and it was a great time. I, of course, had my burgers without buns and purchased a veggie tray mainly for me since most people went straight for the macaroni/potato salads.

                3 days of work this week and then we head to the beach in DE for 5 glorious days of sun (also our 4 yr anniversary). His parents have a place there and it's a tradition for us.

                Can anyone tell me off-hand which, if any, seafood items are legal for induction (or where on the boards to find this info)? I've read the book, in fact I own it, but since we moved I haven't been able to find it among my unpacked boxes. We always get steamed crabs at the beach so I'm hoping they are allowable....

                      Good morning everyone! It’s raining and dreary here, which adds to the Monday morning gloom. I weighed in this morning and was a bit disappointed that I only lost 2 pounds this past week; but I’m chalking it up to "the time of the month". Gotta blame it on something right! Wednesday will be my month anniversary on Atkins and I’ve lost 19, so it’s not too bad I suppose. Well I am about to go get my frustrations out on my punching bag. I started using boxing as part of my exercise routine a couple weeks ago and I’m lovin' it! I'm starting school again tomorrow and will be sitting in a classroom for 32 hrs a week and 12 hrs of clinical which will add to the challenge of low carb; so today I’m researching on the go snacks and lunches! Well I hope everyone had a great day!!!

                        You can have:

                        oysters, mussels, lobsters, clams, squid, shrimp, crabmeat. Oysters and mussels are higher in carbs though.

                          brightstar - Thanks! I did just find the induction acceptable food list elsewhere on the board. There was a note about oysters and mussels so I'll keep that in mind. I think I'll stick to the crabs and some steamed shrimp. YUM!

                              Check in, everyone. Not having the best of days... Ate A LOT more than I should have. Way past the "comfortably full" stage. Didn't technically fall off the wagon, bit I'm dragging here.

                              Got in some Tae Bo+yoga and while it's probably great for the heart, can't help but wonder if that's part of the reason for the massive eating spree...
