    Seriously...I'm the first one here? Everyone must be on vacation already! You lucky, lucky peeps!

    Taking the old water pill yesterday helped and my scale read 271 this morning. I kinda wanna book that as "official"...but have to go back on the new water pill again starting today....so I'm gonna bounce around for a while. *sigh*....what to do, what to do

    My quads are killin from the personal training the other night, but my abs never did hurt...which is bizarre cuz we worked the heck outa them. I have another session tomorrow morning at 9am...looking forward to it!

    Busy day for me today...gotta clean the deck and grill, then going out for drinks with a friend, then visiting with another friend. Tomorrow is that workout in the AM and a big BBQ at my place in the PM...you probably won't hear from me this weekend...but we'll see.

    Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

    Hey you! Sounds like your personal trainer is well worth the cash.

    I'm doing a little work, then leaving early today. Skipped my workout yesterday because I walked for 3 hours at work, and figured that was enough. It's a sunny, beautiful Friday over here, gonna be a great day.
    What I do:
    Elliptical gym machine 1 hr Tue-Sun
    At 320, switch to cycling on my Trek 500
    2 filtered containers water/day
    Daily salads/veggies


    Goals:

    Stop needing High Blood Pressure meds - DONE!
    Workout in a XXXL shirt
    - DONE!
    Workout in a XXL shirt
    Workout in a XL shirt
    270 on the scales

      Happy Friday STAC'ers

      I have a little work *work* that I have to do today but I am playing hooky for the most part. I have a small headache and I think I am a little dehydrated. I did not feel like drinking my water yesterday afternoon, the wind was blowing during my afternoon hike and I was cold. I swear it was blowing about 30 mph marine air, finger and ears frozen. I actually still have an ear ache.

      Today I will work on my water intake, clean up my house, and maybe have people over for dinner (have to talk to hubby about it).

      Becki is that a precription water bill or over the counter? Just currious. My neighbor has one in her blood pressure pill and complain of being dehydrated all the time.

          I'm here at work...the weather is not so great...10 min til lunch and I'm not hungry...oh well, must eat anyway. Ready to go home cause I'm seriously not doing anything here but riding the clock and posting on this board lol!

            today is day 3 and im down 3 lbs.....lost 70 back in 07 and from feb 08 to last month i gained back 70 WOW....HOW STUPID BUT IM NOT GIVING UP THIS TIME ROUND....has anyone drank while doing adkins, im 28 and ive only drank for 3 years on and off, i love to take a shot every now and then,but i stick to almost all meat and cheese and eggs, dont seem to slow it this week so far, hope this works for me this time considering last time i was waiting table workin 12 hours a day and now im home so i try to stay busy out side and turn the air off in sode to sweat while cleaning...lol....good luck to all that has jumped on the wagon, dont give up, its more than worth it to feel and look great...muah, wendy

              I've been on atkins off and on for 6 years and have drank more times than I can remember since starting and neither me or my husband have stalled. We're the "one or two cocktails after a hard day at work" type and I can tell you, as long as you drink a lot of water during the day, it probably wont hurt. I've drank one or two cocktails every night since Monday and I've lost 3.4 lbs...my husband has lost 5. I just make sure it's clear liquor and diet sodas.

                Everything is good my way, still going strong on extended induction!

                Becki~ Yummy! BBQ sounds delicious, wish I could have one, have fun!! I hope you can get that water pill thing worked out soon, I know it must be frustrating.

                John~I'm jealous, it's dreary and cloudy here, this is abnormal weather for us right now, the sun needs to peak through the clouds really soon!

                Alaska~I hope your ear feels better soon!

                wmiller~WTG on the 3#! Ive never drank while doing Atkins so I can't help with that question any.

                  Everyone have a great day! I'm working in the garden this afternoon (well as soon as I get off the computer ) BarBQing sounds good, I have some salmon I need to cook. I didn't drink at all during induction the first time and have only had a glass of wine this time. I think that I need to measure how much I have. The glasses are bigger than the 3 oz listing in my carb. book. I think I'm saving my wine for a treat after I get back into OWL. Induction is working really well for me right now. Eva

                    Hey all! Am jealous of your long weekends. (no such thing in SoKo...)
                    Just had friends over after work and managed to stay on plan. Again, ate a bit more than I'd planned, but no cheats.

                      Way to go staying on plan! I think socializing is kind of hard because I have to really think about what I am eating. Truly it seems like it should be easier because there are things that I just shouldn't eat. Did your cravings from yesterday subside Focused?

                        I tried logging in earlier this morning and had problems - maybe that's why so few people were here before you Becki... they had problems, too. Maybe...

                        Things are good here with me, but no weight change. That's what happens when you start to get to the higher numbers-lost like me... things slow down. POUT!! I have to stay the course and have confidence that I really am losing (even if the scale doesn't show it right away).

                        BBQs sound good. We had our long weekend here in Canada last weekend...

                        My weekend consists of painting my kitchen, planting some flowers in pots for my front deck, writing a couple post for my decor/reno blog... fun stuff!! And it looks like the weather will be gorgeous!!

                        Back to work with me...

                          You're lucky the weather is so nice! Here in Florida this weekends weather is supposed to be the pits. I guess it's going to be lots of cleaning for me, being stuck in the house and all. Your're also lucky because you got a long weekend! I don't get those being a bookeeper at my job! Ugh, so jealous.

                              YES!!!
                              That's actually one of the positives that I've been noticing with this eating plan. There were tons of off-limits goodies around this evening, but I was able to just stick to my celery and hard boiled eggs. Believe it or not, I've gotten to the point where all the high sugar/high carb stuff doesn't even appeal to me right now. I can appreciate the delicious smell of a bakery, but don't actually have any desire to eat the food, if you can believe it. I feel calmer and more "focused" and that alone is worth the extra effort, prep, and initial stages of "denial" and retraining.

                              It's still one day at a time, but for today, this is amazing!
