    I am tired from being up late last night. I plan on drinking my water today and getting some work done.

          Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

              The day did start off super sluggish for me... I didn't want to be at work... I was grumpy and irritated over dumb little stuff...

              Must be planets' alignment or something??

              Nevertheless, I'm not the least bit tempted to stray from my eating habits. I'm loving that I'm back and stronger than ever.

              I wasn't going to let everyone know what I did to motivate myself to come back and stay back because I'm sure 90% of you will consider it too extreme.

              But, I got two tattoo's... just two tiny dots, one on each side of my wrists. I had them placed over my IV scars from the first time I was on Atkins and I got strep throat and didn't take care of it and it lead to scarlet fever... which lead to 9 days straight in the hospital with IV's constantly getting put in and replaced and ugh it was horrible. Needless to say, that was the end of that time I did Atkins. And, every time I'd look at those two tiny scars I would think of failing. I would think of how I didn't take care of myself and the 9 day hospital stint it lead to... and the 18lb. weight gain I had in those 9 days that made me feel defeated.

              The two little tattoos are a reminder to myself to take care of me. And, they are so tiny that no one even notices them until I say something about them... But, those two tiny dots... every time I feel tempted, all I have to do is look at my wrists.

              And, it gives me peice of mind... That they are a promise to myself to stop hurting myself and to start taking care of me.

              I don't know why I want to share that... Just curious if anyone else has done something similar or has their own way that they've made a promise to themselves about this lifestyle...

                  I'm not having a good week. Last week I lost 3 lbs. and .75in in my waist. I was really good all weekend, only to notice every day so far THIS week I've gained 1 lb. I've kept it below 20g for almost 2 weeks now, and I've gained back all the progress I made last week. I drink 72+ oz of water a day...watch my carbs and calories...with nothing lost. My weight just wont stick to below 133 for more than a day or two! I'm not new to Atkins, it's worked for me before to lose 70 lbs...so I don't know what's going on with my body this time, but it's making me QUITE upset!

                          I agree. In fact, I've already designed the tattoo I'm going to get when I reach my goal: a barbed wire around my thigh (not terribly visible) with 75 "barbs" representing the 75 lbs I will have lost. Each time I see it and the 75 barbs, I'll be reminded how those 75 lbs were like barbed wire around me.
