  • The 4th of July....I almost blew it!

So, I thought the 4th of July was going to totally UNDO everything I have accomplished so far! It was very hard, but I was able to talk my way through.... mostly. I had NO sweets whatsoever, aside from all the temptations that were laid out in front of me. I did fall off the wagon a little by eating about a half-cup of roasted potatoes (about 13 carbs). But, I still stayed under the 25 I am eating a day even with that, and I lost weight! I never thought I would be able to say that I LOST weight on the 4th of July! I am glad that that is the only time I have "cheated" since starting Atkins. Atkins works miracles! So, I am now down to 179 lbs and have lost a total of 21 pounds in about a month! I had a bit of a stall for about a week, but have moved up the rungs and am just loving it even more! I am glad that I have the support here and that I have been able to accomplish my goals more effectively! Only 29 more lbs to go!

well done, you have great self control. It is hard when its holidays or birthdays etc, when the norm is to have lots of treats or naughty foods as i call them. Which rung are you currently on? I think on rung 8 or 9 the starchy veg rung, you can have potatoes, so they were not a bad cheat as cheats go. Did you fall out of Ketosis?

Lucky you that those potatoes didn't trigger a binge. What rung are you on? You profile info shows "14-day Induction"...

Congrats for the 21 lbs lost!

Oh, I've moved onto OWL...I'm not sure the exact Rung, but I've added back in more veggies, cottage cheese, nuts, and berries...I've lost a lot and since I only have 25 more lbs to go, I wanted to move up faster. The potatoes were definitely a "cheat" for the day. I won't eat those for a while! Fortunately though, I didn't gain any weight from them...I actually still lost! I think it was just luck that day.
