    Well hello again everyone!

After a long pause, I am back. When I last started Atkins, I failed miserably. It turns out that my thyroid was EXTREMELY out of whack. After several months of treatment for that and some other problems, I am back! I have been blessed with one of the best doctors on the planet. He is very supportive of my weight loss goals without being judgmental.

I am in much better physical health, but my weight is still a problem. I have managed to take off about 23 pounds since I started trying in January. I have found myself recently stalled because I have had no appetite. I decided on Monday that I would start Induction on Tuesday. Even though I am eating no more meals during the day, I am intaking twice the calories. This paired with almost instant ketosis has already brought me a 7 pound loss. I expect that rate to taper down dramatically over the next couple of days, but it is exciting all the same.

My short-term goals for now is 247 by August 14. Even if my weight loss slows dramatically, I should be able to lose 13 pounds in the next month.

One big mistake I have made is that I haven't asked people to help me on my journey. Last time, all I did was post here. This time I would like to make a change. If anyone is willing to friend me and share this journey with me, please IM me. I need someone to talk to, be accountable to, laugh with, and complain to when things are not going fast enough. I need someone to help me stay reasonable.

Well, I am done writing for now. I hope to talk to you all soon!

    Re: Roller coaster

BrazenBlond: Welcome back to the fold. I just started back on Monday and the support here is so valuable. I check in every morning before i start my day. I read lots of the post to get my inspiration going for the day. I find it helps to see other peoples comments to keep me going. One day at a time. I am so looking forward to checkingout that scale on Monday. It is very hard not to step on the scale through the week so I put it in a drawer so it was out of sight..whatever works right...

I am walking to California with the Route 66 group. Come and join us
