    Well, I've been lurking on this board awhile and decided it's time to get back on track. Back in 2002 I did Atkins and lost 60 pounds. Fell way off the wagon and I'm right back where I started. GRRRR. Anyway, today starts day one of induction and this time I don't plan on quitting until I reach my goal. I'm doing the '72 version of Atkins, as I am very carb intolerant and the starting level on DANDR is about where my OWL number is.

    Welcome back!

    Just keep in mind when/if you ask questions that you'll get advice based on DANDR 2002 since this is what the Board goes by.

      Good luck! I lurked for a while before I started back up too. I like the support from everyone and checking in on the second time around club's daily roll call has been really good for me.

          Thanks everyone! Day two of induction and I am having to reacquire the taste for black coffee. Odd that the only thing I really miss so far is non-dairy creamer. I'm sure in a day or two it will be fine, but I'm REALLY glad we have decent coffee at work!

            Hi and welcome back -- Here is a little information I hope will refresh your memory and help get you going again. To loose and keep the weight off follow the plan the way Dr. Atkins wrote it. The plan works if you follow it the way it is written and don’t try to do it “your way” – obviously “your way” doesn’t work or you wouldn’t be here!

            Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

            Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of the induction page - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/ – it’s an easy way to answer questions you may have if you can’t find your copy of the book.


            Stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction because of their ingredients and have caused stalling to many people) - eat a variety of foods off the acceptable food list, (making sure you get your fats, carbs and protein in daily), drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), take supplements and exercise.

            Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable. Make sure you are using induction recipes until you move on to OWL (ongoing weight loss)

              Thanks for the links! I'm doing Atkins '72 so this week is basically zero carbs. I know 99.9% of you are on DANDR, but it absolutely doesn't work for me. ALL carbs count for me, not just the net carbs - my body doesn't seem to care.

              Those recipe sites will come in handy in a few weeks, though! (and we won't talk about my bad reaction to malitol)!!!
