    Good morning to all

I ran over a razor blade last night and found out that I have to get a new tire

Oh well, I am down to 218.8 this morning. I am extremely sore from working out the past two day.

Hope everyone has a good day and drink your water

Checking in but really struggling to get started on induction and stay there. Yesterday I went to a pool party and did not eat well so I am having to start all over again today. I know this is a new day. I can start fresh and clean. I will do this. I have to be diligent and aware at all times. I am the only one who CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

Day 4 of Induction and absolutely no weight loss (no gain, either, so I guess that's something). I suspect this time around the Diet Coke is what's getting me - I'm at almost zero carbs - and though it never bothered me before it may be the problem now. I'm going to give it a few more days, but if nothing happens I guess that's the first thing I'm going to try.

              Re: Roll Call, 07/23/09, Thursday

Well, after my last weekend of anniversary and wedding party weight gains...I have lost what I gained during that time and am now on the losing side of things! I lost 5 pounds since Monday!
Does anyone else get charlie horse cramps in their calves and feet at night when they are losing weight? I do...really bad! I always know when I am losing weight because my calves and feet cramp all night and I hardly get any sleep...In fact I can almost tell you how many pounds I will be losing by how hard the cramps hit me! So last night I dropped 3 pounds and I didn't get any sleep at all because of the painful cramps. So in my instance, its painful delight! My legs feel like mush! They ache horribly. But I lost 3 pounds during that pain!!! I have tried taking so many different supplements and nothing works...I have this same problem no matter which diet I am on, even weight watchers. I was hoping someone might have advice?? I would love to lose weight without the painful side effects! rofl

Morrigan, try to add some fried cabbage in the evenings with butter and some sort of meat mixed in. I like to add sesame oil sometimes too. Usually when I cannot seem to make my body lose, I cut the sodium down, drink my water and eat cabbage and add butter to my foods. I usually lose weight then! (however, watch out for gas! rofl) I drink mostly Coke Zero or Diet Rite cola...I have my coffee (nothing added, black)...and I do eat my vegies with butter which I think helps to move everything through the body. I eat salad about every other day because I am not a huge salad fan. I hope you have a woosh very soon!

LOL I know the feeling about getting to the start line..the finnish line is fine. Each morning I try to talk my self out of going and then realize what I am doing and get out there real quick before I can back out..

I'm here...and heading to day 5...don't know if I've lost anything yet but I can say I feel better. Atkins says not to weigh yourself during the 2 wk induction so I follow this advice too...maybe I'll lose some more weight! LOL..I tried to force myself to eat some fish today!!!! YUCK...I just hate it and if I have to gag in order to eat something I'll just pass! LOL...

Just a tentative hello. I've been gone for about a year and in that time I have been very, very bad. Dh is ready to start over, but I'm not quite there yet. Maybe next week, but I'll be back soon!

Woohoo! Got on the scale this morning and I'm down 2 pounds! That, and I put a pair of shorts on this morning that were getting pretty snug, and they actually fit now.

Thank GOD, I was starting to wonder....

The cramps are caused by potassium or calcium deficiencies, and the absorption of both depends on other vitamins & minerals... so finding the right balance might be a bit tricky. Many people need extra potassium, especially during Induction (plus Atkins has a diuretic effect, which doesn't help with potassium deficiencies). Eating foods high in potassium might help, but it's sometimes not enough. You said you tried supplements... did you try an OTC potassium supplement? I think your doctor can write a prescription so that you get better supplements (with more potassium than the OTC ones). He/She can also make a simple blood test to see if potassium is indeed the problem or if there is some other vitamin/mineral that you're missing.

Hi Georgiana..and thanks for the info...Yeah, I have tried every kind of potassium OTC...strongest, different brands, mixed with other supplements that are supposed to help...eating lots of bananas and such when I was on Weight watchers, etc...It doesn't even matter which diet I am on...Anytime I lose weight, I have charlie horse style cramps in my calves...I have not had the blood test for potassium though. Probably should do that. I wonder if there are any atkins friendly foods with potassium?? Thanks so much for the info Georgiana!
