  • STAC Roll Call Monday 10/26/09

    Here and on plan, nothing else to report. Wishing everyone a great low carb day
    1st Goal ~ 199 Onderland -Met 3/29/10
    2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
    3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
    Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight
    (Next pic at 187)






    Current Mini Goals:
    1) 35 pounds lost
    2) 40 pounds lost to move to Rung 5
    3) 45 pounds lost to update 15 pound loss picture series

    I am totally here! Been struggling through a 4 week stall (not helped by a couple of oops days and a lack of exercise and water). Just realized this weekend how little time I have to lose the weight to meet my goals, also realized how bad it is that I've set time-related goals for myself after promising I wouldn't.

    So, now most important goal is to be in a 14 or a 12 misses for my wedding on May 1. Sunday I fit into a 16 Womens so I'm looking at 2-3 sizes in 6+ months. I've revamped my eating, started exercising more frequently, drinking lots more water, and recommiting myself to taking care of me.

        Looks like that makes at least 3 of us that are sitting still and/or waffling. Keep working it ladies, something has to break for one of us soon.

          Bella- Congratulation on your upcoming wedding. I also have a May deadline for my own wedding We can do it!

          I'm here and OP. I'm proud that I stayed cheat free all weekend even with a cook-out and a day watching football with my mom. Tonight we are headed to the Skins/Eagles game, but we've already packed the cooler OP for that too! Well, aside from the beer, which sadly I won't be drinking. I volunteered to be DD so I am sure to stay OP 100%. I do miss beer....

          I started OWL yesterday, but I have to say I'm already confused. I've read the book and all the stickys but I wish there was an OWL menu like there is an Induction menu. I'm still not sure I get the OWL process. I guess I need to go back and re-read again. Any pointers anyone?

              kmrsail - for OWL rung 1 - just add 5g veggie carbs to your day [from the acceptable food list] - couple times a week at first, to see how your body reacts to the new level. Try different veggies to see how you react to the various kinds.

              If you are still losing, then you go to rung 2 - fresh cheeses [according to the book - I believe I've seen milk in this rung also, and cottage cheese]. You will add 5g of these types of food a couple of times a week, once again, being aware of how you react - cravings/gain/etc.

              You slowly move up the rungs to see what you can/can not eat. You are also finding out how may total carbs you can have per/day where you are still losing.

              Hope this helps...good luck.

                Thanks, this seems to be a much easier way to understand. So I want to keep basically the same menu, just adding 5g veggie carbs a few days a week. And I can use different veggies to see if I stall or trigger from them. On the other days I keep to my induction menu?

                One more thing, when I do move up, do I add 5g dairy carbs on top of 5g veggie carbs, or instead of?

                  OK folks.... 14 days completed, cheat-free, 7 lbs lost, and I think I'm onto extended induction for awhile.
                  MAY 2010 Challenges
                  ABS-1200, Squats-1200, Lunges-400, PushUps-700, Stability Ball-250 mins,
                  I weigh once a week, Mondays !

                    On top of or in place of... either or. But the idea is to go from 20g of carbs per week to 25g per week, to 30g etc. Keeping a close eye on what triggers cravings or what causes stalls or gains. but, give each new group a couple weeks before going up in the rungs too. There is a spot somewhere on adbb that lists the rungs in order too.

                      I'm here

                      Today was great at work, I sold the most desserts last week (yeah, go figure, lol) so tomorrow as a prize for it I get to be boss for the day and write everyone's sections and decide when the floor gets cut and all that good stuff which is awesome because I can cut the floor and make some mulah tomorrow

                      So, I'm looking forward to that, and I just overall have had a great day so far, I think it's because the weather is so nice by me today
                      Cool fall day with lots of sushine!

                              Hey today is day one for me too Soul! I have been on and off this board for what seems like a thousand times. I always think I will try something else and I always fail miserably. This weekend I ate so much junk it was ridiculous. I ended up being bloated, sick and very uncomfortable. I don't know what I am going to do. I have to take Atkins a day at a time. My goal right now is just to have a clean induction. I have done it only once before. I do know where my problems areas are. I tend to get bored because I make the same things over and over again. I need variety and that is an area I am going to have to watch. Also, I am a diet coke addict. I am trying to cut way back. I only had one glass today, but I can see where it triggers my sugar cravings and I am going to have to bite the bullet and let it go completely. No easy but I will work on it.
                              So it is day one for me. Starting again and looking forward to each day staying on track!
