  • Bye - ....

I am so sorry to say this but I have to say ‘good bye’ this Atkins diet is just not working for me I have tweaked and changed it up and nothing … I lost 12 pounds the first two weeks and since then I have lost 4 pounds and it has been 2 1\2 months – I need to see results!! So I am going to give weight watchers a try… I was soooo hoping to lose my weight on Atkins but I am against the clock and I don’t have time to not lose any weight for 2 1\2 months…..
I’m sorry and sad I have to leave!!
    Good luck to ya’ll!!

Sorry your leaving.Deep down there surely must be a reason for you not losing if you stuck around had your menus reviewed, explained your daily routine who knows we could have targeted it out.

Working against the clock is the problem. It just doesn't work. Good luck with WW, but I expect you will be back to STAC sooner or later. 16 pounds in 2 1/2 months is actually a great weight loss. Sorry you can't see that.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

          Re: Bye - ....

I'm all for finding the right diet to suit you. As you probably already know, if quick weight loss is important than WW is not the way to go with it's high carbs...especially if you are doing the Points versions. There are many other low-carb programs out there though such as Rosedale, Paleo and even good carb programs like South Beach.

Keep in mind that weight loss takes a lot of work for most of us. It takes planning and patience and trying to figure out what works with your body and what does not. For instance, have you tried cutting out all the bacon you like to eat? Or cutting back on cheese? Sometimes those simple changes can make a huge difference.

I wish you success in your weight loss journey and in finding a program that works for you.

                Re: Bye - ....

Hey dewolfe, so glad you came back to us! I have tried WW, going to meetings, and online. It worked to a point, but I always felt deprived cause I love cream in my coffee and butter on my vegies. I cheated everyday because I refused to give up my cream! I was stalled on WW for a whole year! And I never lost more than 2 lbs a week, more like .5 to 1 lb. (That's actually a good way to lose because I'm more likely to keep it off if I lose slowly.) So now I eat the Atkins way and I love this food! At the beginning I really went crazy with the butter and cream and bacon but I've really toned it down since about July. Now it's more vegies (with butter of course) and since I'm in OWL I can have nuts (which I do 2 or 3 times a week) and berries.

So don't give up on us, you'll get there, it just takes a while for some of us

Glad to hear you are staying.

Since you are concerned about you rate of loss, why not post a day or two's menus in the 'review my menu' forum? Someone may spot something that could be improved & help you lose faster.
