  • From Success To Sabotoge, and now..

    Back to the basics.

Some of you may remember me, as I was on the board for a while. I had reached my goal weight and was doing great. Then I had a death in the family that drastically changed my eating habits once again. I am now almost back to my last starting weight of 211 at 208lbs.
That being said, I am very disappointed, ashamed, and outright mad at myself for allowing this to happen. I admit I had been to embarrassed to seek the help of this forum because of my failure. But, I find myself here once again in need of the support everyone here provides. This is a great community and one of the biggest reasons I had so much success. I am determined to get back into this WOL, because mine depends on it!
    Tomorrow, induction day 1.

Thanks Tom, for the We Miss You Email!
Another day, in a new weigh!!!

It happens! I am there myself, but glad to be back. Hard to admit, but realized enough was enough this past week. I had lost 200 lbs. Had been doing great at goal, then had the worst year ever. Feeling like crap and clothes getting too tight. I stepped on the scale this past weekend and was 80 lbs over goal. Never wanted to admit that to anyone so I didn't want to post..

However, I bit the bullet, made the full confession and am moving on. I am three days into induction and have lost 11 lbs already. We both know how to do this and the benefits. Now we just have to forget about the past and do it right this time.

We are there for you! Welcome back!

Re: From Success To Sabotoge, and now..

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Don, I am glad to see you have recommitted as well. I had planned on starting induction yesterday but wanted to get well prepared. I have been to the grocery and picked up induction friendly foods and I will be cooking some tonight in order to be able to reheat and eat. So, tomorrow will be the first day of induction for me. I have used the last two days to start getting off the soda and turn to a water drinking machine.
My two kids were shocked that I didnt eat any ice cream `of spaghetti last night, I then explained to them what I was trying to do. I want this to be a cheat free induction and I am getting excited about going all in tomorrow.
If there is anyone restarting atkins tomorrow I want you to know you are not alone, we can do this!
            Thanks, Michael

Re: From Success To Sabotoge, and now..

Welcome back Micheal! I too fell off plan last year due to the death of someone very close to me, so I know how that goes. I spent 9 months so absorbed in my grief I wasn't doing anything good for myself. Finally one day I thought, my sister would kick me in the *** if she saw what I was doing, and decided then to start taking care of myself again and the first thing I did was come back to ADBB. Wishing you great success again.

Thanks Barb, and I am so happy that you have the strength to use this loss for a positive. The first 9 months were the roughest, with all the firsts..Holidays etc. But, like you, I realize my loved one would want me to thrive and not wither. Good luck...Im rooting for you!
