  • One More Time....

I originally started in 12/03 and got from 296 down to a low of 204. The life happened. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer and I cared for him 'til he died at home. He was my Mom's primary care giver as she has Alzheimer's. So I took care of her too. A while after Dad died I got Mom into an Assisted Living Facility. She was really upset with me. (Now she is quite content to be there.) Needless to say, emotional eating took it's toll. And forget about finding time or motivation for exercise. Just when I thought I could get back on track, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Surgery followed by 11 months of chemo further interfered with my WOE. The doctors told me to eat as much as I wanted of whatever appealed to me to build up my strength so as to better endure the chemo. Unlike many, I even put on weight during the course of chemo. (Fortunately, I was already bald so I didn't have much hair to loose!) It took me a long time after chemo to feel like myself again. Well I'm back and committed to trying again. It worked before and I expect it'll work again if I put the effort into it.
