  • Diminishing libido..

    This is my second go at Atkins and it's been going pretty well so far. I am, however, not sure what's happening to my libido though. In the previous Atkins attempt, and even in the early weeks of this one, my sexual appetite skyrocketed! It wasn't just the appetite that increased, but I could go on for longer and enjoy it more. I put most of it to feeling better about losing a bit of weight and decided it's all in my head.. great..

    Now I just feel like I don't care for it anymore. This is very strange for me as a 32 year old guy whose never had to feel this way before. Is this my diet or is it just me getting older?

    Exactly the opposite here but just give it time! Your status says you're on extended induction. Are you still there? Maybe it's time to move on up the ladder. You might need more carbs to function at your peak. Seriously, moving up might help. Are you exercising or bodybuilding and strengthening your muscles? The further I've pushed myself with actual fitness (not just trying to get slim) the more libido I've had.

      Weight loss can cause hormonal fluctuations... this might be why you're experiencing a lessening of libido. These fluctuations settle down after a while... give it a couple of months and see how things are then.

        Diminished sexual appetite, how are you feeling overall? Do you have energy?

        Might be a testosterone thing, the lower testosterone us men have the worse we feel and the less we want sex. Are you working out? Lifting weights tends to up your testosterone levels. Ever thought about having your testosterone levels checked by a doctor?
