  • Lessons Learned!!

I just had to come here and confuse to ya’ll! I have been so off Atkins since I went to Colorado for Thanksgiving!! And I HAD lost 18 pound and NOW I have gained 10 back in just 3 weeks!! Crazy! It took me 5 months to lost 18 pounds and now I have messed all that up! So yesterday I went and bough those ketostix and I am 100% back on this plan! I have tried to lose wt so many other times and never had the results that I get with Atkins! So I just wanted to confess to the group and to let you know I’m back !! ( after being very dumb!!!)
I have totally learned my lesson!!

You know I have thought about that so this won't happen again - and I'm not sure why I did it .... but I am thinking it has a lot to do with nerve - when I get stressed or nervous I tend to eat... I try not to but I just can't stop myself! arghhherrrr!!!!

Figuring that out will help you a lot more than more ketosticks!

If you don't figure that out, the pattern is likely to repeat ... since stress isn't likely to leave our lives!

this is the first time I got the sticks - and I have tried for years to figure out why I eat when I am stressed - it just makes me feel good - for a short little bit - I totally agree with you I NEED to figure this out!!!

Coping with stress is a universal problem it seems, and unfortunately, many of us choose self-destructive behavior to cope (I used to be a smoker; I know about self-destructive behavior and stress!)

It's a real accomplishment to replace those behaviors with healthy ones - keep at it, and good luck!

Well, if you know that stress and nervousness are triggers for you, start brainstorming what other activities you can do instead of eat when you're feeling stressed or nervous. Come up with a list of 8-10 activities and write them down nice and neat (maybe on an index card or pretty note card). Make multiple copies of the list to keep with you at all times (work, home, car, purse). Next time you feel a trigger to eat, pull out the list and start doing whatever activities are feasible for your situation until the desire to eat has passed.
