  • Do you hear that?? That's the sound of Shame.

    Hi all.
    My name's Katrina... and I'm a Carbaholic.

Some of you may remember me from last spring/summer - I was a STACer then... Got down to 179 and wore my gorgeous size 12 wedding dress. I fully intended on cheating on my honeymoon. What i did NOT intend - was to not stop. it's been only EIGHT months since then, and i have gained a whopping 35 pounds... that's over 4 pounds per month. more than a pound a week. So... yes - this post is what shame sounds like.

I'm so ashamed and confused and sad. I was so happy when i was working out and losing weight. Although 179 is still way overweight - I'm built kinda funny, so 179 often resembles on me what 155 might resemble on a different frame.

Someone please help. I'll be 25 on Monday - I refuse live the next 25 years like this.

    Help with what?

You're the only one that can change what you're doing.

You know how Induction works ... you start doing it.

And you remember the consequences of "cheating".

Maybe for you, Dr. Atkins was right ... it's the "kiss of death".

Hi Katrina, Glad you made it back to us. It sounds like you've learned a valuable lesson that unfortunately many other people have had to learn.

I think it's time to put your feelings of shame, confusion and regret behind you, they can only make things harder. You've learned your lesson. Concentrate instead on how you used to feel when you were eating on plan and exercising. It's never too late to get a fresh start. In fact start right now, the sooner you get back on plan the sooner you will feel happy about yourself again.

Be sure to share your success with us!

Hi Katrina ! Welcome back to ADBB, I hope....

The reason I say this is I notice you signed that you would restart Jan 02, 2010. Are you really sure you want to wait that long and let the Carbs get a grip on your willpower?

You're ashamed and confused and sad.... Use that to get back on track now, before it's too late. I'm a STAC'r, and understand how insidious the Carb addiction can be...

          Best wishes.....

            Katrina,

We all make mistakes - and the difference is, some people learn from their mistakes, and some don't. It sounds like you've learned quite a lesson about how NOT to eat...so swallow your pride and jump back on the horse! It's OKAY to admit that you messed up...so many of us here have done it. But YOU have to motivate yourself and make the hard choices. This board is great - a good combination of support and "tough love" that will help keep you on track. We're here to help...but you gotta do this for you. You're worth it!

I will ONLY weigh once per week! I will refer to DANDR 2002 and this forum when I have questions. I will revel in new recipes, new clothes, and the new feeling of being happy in my skin. I will hold myself accountable to do this the right way, without excuses, because I know that Atkins is the best thing for my health and happiness. I. Will. Succeed!
