  • Need to join STAC if that's ok

Hi everyone...Well here I am reaady to bear my soul and strip away all the things that keep me fat & unhealthy. I was ready to do this a few months ago but I had to have surgery on my Temperol artery then 2 weeks later my sister was diagnosed with emphysema then a month later mum was diagnosed with a brain tumor and the day after my car died. We are waiting for mum to get date for tumor to be removed and won't know till it is what we are dealing with. Meantime I feel like I will die if I don't move this weight. I am breathless my heart pounds when I do anything and I feel dreadful. I know some of it is just stress but I am the only one here to get mum to hospital apointments and such.(She lives in another town) I have to hire a car to do that so money is tight as well. I need to look after myself so I can be there for her. So here I stand ready to do whatever it takes and knowing this is it. I am fighting for my life.
Sorry for the long winded post I want to let you know where I am at.
    Tomorrow is D day.

Hi there and good luck! I am starting over again too!!
I was wondering about your statement above? Is there no program that can get her a ride? I know that my aunt had a similar problem and I was an hours drive away so I found a place that helps with rides and such for her. The hospitals/doctors usually know of someplace that does that.

Either way...I wish you the best and I totally understand about the breathing issues...I am tired of being tired!!

Welcome! I hear your post. I've been there and I know you're tired, it's hard and it feels like the weight of the world is bearing down on you! I'm sorry you're going through so much right now but if you can tackle your health problems right now it will truly help you be there for your family when they need you most! I have been through what you're going through. My father was diagnosed with a glioblastoma stage IV in 2002. Hopefully, that's not what your mother has and they can get things under control quickly. I can promise you this though...there is NO BETTER TIME for you than right now. You need this WOE because so much in your own life is spinning out of control and gaining control of your way of life is really the only thing you can control right now. Know that it's going to be okay. No matter what. You are going to be better through all of it.

Re: Need to join STAC if that's ok

Firstly how lucky am I to have found such a wonderful supportive group of people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for you words of support and comfort it means so very much.
Sonya mum lives in a small town there is an ambulance that takes people up to the hospital but they leave early morning and come back late afternoon. Besides mum not feeling well enough to hang round the hospital all day she has also has 2 bouts of bowl cancer and she has major problem in that department still. So it is better for her if I drive down anf get her. I really don't mind.

Everlosing you are spot on when you said feeling like everything else is out of control in my life. And yes this is the one thing I can have control over and it feels good.

I started this morning and so far everything is going great. Apart from the odd cuppa tea I was eating very close to Atkins for the last couple weeks so hopefully I won't go thru the dreaded induction flu lol.

Again my heartfelt gratitude for your words of encouragment and support.
            Luv & Hugs
            Wendy
