    Water question

Hello, I am going to start Atkins for the 2nd time (1st time in 2005). I was wondering if you can use those sugar free drink mixes they sell for bottle water and does this count towards your 8 glasses of water or would they be in addition to them. Thanks.

I am worried that Atkins will be much more difficult for me since I've done it before. I have been reading some posts and pray that I have what it takes to get me to my goal weight.

No, the way I understand it is 8 glasses of pure water, then anything SF has to be over that. (slosh, shosh, slosh)

you can use those, but you still need your pure water...plus you have to count those towards your sweetner allowance

        No, it doesn't count.

Dr. Atkins was quite clear about that at the end of Chapter 12.

And don't forget there's a limit of 3 servings of sweetener per day ... so you would use up your limit rather quickly.

Remember, too, that one of the purposes of Induction is to break your craving for sweet!

Thanks all for the clarification on my water question. I will use the sweetner ONLY as an occassional treat.

From what I understand once your body enters Ketosis, your body excretes fat through breath, sweat and urine.
Dose this mean the more water you drink the more fat you excrete?

You're not excreting "fat". You are excreting ketone bodies that are not used by the body.

No. But anecdotal evidence shows that people who don't drink enough water often have difficulties losing weight.
