  • Lack of energy!

    When I am on the Atkins I feel very weak and find it hard to do a big amount of exercise, I am also feeling like I need to drink coffee all the time, and I know I should not be drinking it.
    I just feel like I need a kick up the arse, the fustrating thing is I know I can do this I want to shed 2 stone, by Summer and keep it off.
    I can handel not eating bread/pasta etc this time around though after a meal I just dont feel full
    But sugar in my drinks (tea/coffee) is killing me, I think its phscological thing because I managed fine before...I am okay with diet coke never drank coke anyway but I do love water so just gota keep pushing myself!

    You might feel a bit weak during the first days of Induction, but this should not last "when you are on Atkins". If it does, then there's something fishy going on there.

    Could you post a complete menu, with quantities and net carbs? We might be able to make some suggestions starting from it.

    How many calories are you consuming?

    How many net carbs? How many of these net carbs are coming from vegetables?

    I am also feeling like I need to drink coffee all the time [...] But sugar in my drinks (tea/coffee) is killing me
    Is it the caffeine that you "need" or the sugar in coffee?

    If you have a sweet tooth, I think it would be better to avoid all sweeteners during Induction... including diet sodas.

      Your probably right, it will be the sugar I am craving not the caffiene because I am not a big coffee lover I dont like milk niether.

      Yesterday,

      Breakfast
      Egg and mushrooms

      Lunch
      Tuna (Mayo squidge in with the tuna, low carb mayo) salad, lettice, cucumber and onion. Small portioin.

      Tea
      Chicken/cheese with salad again lettice, cucumber and onion larger portion than lunch.

      4 x Half pints of water
      2 x coffee

      Snack small bag of pork scratchings

        Could you add quantities and net carbs for all foods? It's difficult to say anything about it otherwise.

        How many calories are you consuming? Undereating can make you feel lousy.

        Dr. Atkins told us to drink minimum 64 oz of water. And many people do best drinking more than that.

          Hang in there, it gets easier!!

          Sounds like induction flu for sure... stay strong and it will pass...

          Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

          Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
          Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

          so:

          12/28/09 ~ 235.1
          01/04/10 ~ 229.0
          01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
          (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)

              Welcome Elle...it does get easier, just follow the plan!
