Day 17 on atkins, second time around only down 5 lbs. I eat only what's on the approved list. Gallon of water a day. Before you ask me to list what I'm eating,one salad a day meat most of the day except eggs. It's not the food. What do I do next. And yes I've measured myself no change. HELP!

First off, Rule 3 of Induction in Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution 2002 (the book we use here) is an important one to follow, since it concerns our consumption of vegetables. The first part of Rule 3 is to eat no more than 20g net carb per day, of which most must come from Induction List vegetables. The second part is the proportion of Induction List vegetables to eat: two to three cups of veggies from the salad list, and up to one cup from the other list if we have not consumed three cups' worth from the salad list.
Sorry to say, your salad, as the only vegetables you consume, does not work within Rule 3. If you want to do a very strict Induction, you'll have to re-think your veggies so as to get more than half of your net carbs from vegetables and those veggies should come from the lists as specified above.

Above was the by-the-book answer. Now, let's get real. Two cups of spinach and two mushrooms are nowhere near enough vegetables. You are robbing yourself of valuable nutrients - and this may be your body's way of saying, "Feed me properly, gosh darn it!" If you aren't much of a veggie fan, you might want to visit the recipe section on this board and hunt down Linda's Low Carb Recipes on the web. If you are a veggie fan, then abide by the "heart" of Rule 3 and add a variety of vegetables to your diet, and consider moving to OWL 1 to add even more veg.
