  • 3 lb loss after 14 day re-Indctn..now what?

Dont pay attention to my stats on my signature, I've been gone for a while. I'm back & yesterday was the 14th day of re-induction, only a 3 lb loss. Not happy but my waist does feel smaller. Question: should I do an extended induction or move on to OWL? I'm at a loss. Thanks for all the answers.

Have fallen off the wagon along the way but I dust myself off & get right back on!!!

I would vote for OWL. However, have you re-read chapters 12 and 13? As you remember, Induction isn't about the losing, it's getting your body ready to lose.

yesterday was the 14th day of re-induction
Did you follow any diet before doing Induction this time around?

Could you post a typical menu you've had, with quantities and net carbs for all foods/drinks?

      Have you been exercising?

I think 3 lbs is the magic number. 5 weeks into induction and I've lost only 3 lbs.

Mind posting a menu? Please include amounts and net carbs for all foods.

Re: 3 lb loss after 14 day re-Indctn..now what?

Thanks for responding. Here is my typical menu:

              Brunch

decaf coffee, non dairy creamer, 1 packet of Splenda or Sweet'n Low
              3 hard boiled eggs
3 slices of ham (15 grams)

              Dinner

Pork cooked in soy sauce and vinegar (5 g)
              Salad around 1.5 cups. (18 g)

              Late night snack

              Pork rinds (skin only)

              I drink lots of water.

Last year I went on the diet around July and I had the same problem. But after reading through this forum, I realized aspartame was culprit so I stopped taking aspartame and the pounds started to come off. I stopped dieting because of some problems.

Because of the holidays, I gained what I lost and more. I thought that I'd lose the weight easily this time since I'd be avoiding aspartame. Unfortunately, this isn't the case anymore and I'm getting frustrated.

                Hi Fionski

What is the source you are using to follow the Atkins plan? Do you have the book?

How much water are you drinking exactly? Lots can be different for each person. The minimum is 64 oz per day, of plain water.

                  Hello mission to lose.

I have the book, 2002 edition.

I think I'm drinking around 64 oz, give or take a few oz.

I have a few pieces of butterscotch candy sweetened with splenda. I make sure I only take 2 or 3 a day (3.75 grams/pc.).

I would increase your veggies to the 3 cups per day allottment. Explore the vast list of veggies beyond the salad stuff.

Also check the ingredients on the non dairy creamer. I bet you a wooden nickel there is sugar in there.

                    Good luck!

                        OK,
You have a few things to fix...
You need to re read the rules of Induction
and eat only what is on the Acceptable Induction Foods list.

And 3.75 Carb grams per piece??? X 2 or 3 a day??? Wow! Way too many wasted carbs.

Not permitted on Atkins. Did you read the list of ingredients?

                          soy sauce
                          What are the ingredients?

                          vinegar
                          What kind of vinegar?

                          Salad around 1.5 cups.
Is "salad" lettuce or are there other veggies in it?

And as Glenda pointed out, 1.5 cups of vegetables per day is not enough.

                          Pork rinds (skin only)
                          Plain or flavored?

I stopped dieting because of some problems.
You really should not be "dieting". Atkins is meant to be a lifestyle change.

I think I'm drinking around 64 oz, give or take a few oz.
The minimum is 64 oz. Many people do better drinking more than that.

And you don't write quantities, but I seriously doubt you are eating enough food. How many calories are in that menu?

Wow! I just realized that the small things are probably affecting me. I did read the book but it seems that I should pay attention to the small details.

I have to read the book again and check my pantry.

Thank you for all your responses.
