  • Messed up my Induction 2nd time around...

    Hi there,

Just a quick introduction. I did Atkins approx 8 years ago, lost a bit over 2 stones in 2 months and then gave up as found the diet very restrictive (and couldn't face another egg). Since then I've slowly gained it back despite trying diets such as WeightWatchers, Slimming World etc.

I started Atkins again on 01/01/2010 - I chose it mainly because I remembered how I didn't feel hungry on the diet. I didn't have a copy of the book anymore, but found a similar book in the UK called Nerys and India's foolproof diet.

I only lost 6lbs in the last 3 weeks. After checking in with the Spotlight forum, I realise that I messed up induction by having too many refined meat products such as sausage (whilst still staying within carb limit) and having peanut butter with celery as a snack and not drinking enough water. On the bright side I'm exercising 3-4 times a week, had terrible headaches for the first 5 days and am definitely in ketosis from the sticks.

I'm off to the shops again today to see if anyone is stocking the 2002 version of DANDR. So what should I do now - repeat Induction, just accept the weight loss for what it is and move on to OWL rung 1 or go into extended Induction? Help!

As long as you are not bored with Induction, there would be nothing wrong in doing Induction (properly) for another week... to get things right before moving to OWL.

You don't have to eat eggs.

Thanks. I found the book at Waterstones in Birmingham city centre. I'm restarting Induction (properly) today with water >1.8L etc. I'll let you all know how it goes in a week or so - determined not to weigh myself before then.

I'm glad you found the book! Great attitude about staying off the scale Dennis. Please check out the low carb recipe sites that Georgiana provided. No need to be bored or feel restricted with food choices.

            Good luck!
