  • General Food questions...

    Hi all-
This is my second time doing Atkins Induction. I lost 9 lbs before and I would like to lose another 15. Anyway, I went grocery shopping to stock up on Atkins friendly foods. Did good but realized when I got home that the Hebrew National's I bought are 97% fat free and the String Cheese is low fat. I don't know if I can still eat those... Anyone? Thanks in advance!

    What are the ingredients?

Also, since it's processed meat, I wouldn't eat it daily.

the String Cheese is low fat
More carbs... and check the ingredients.

It's always a good idea to check what you're buying at the store.

And read the list of ingredients for all foods, not only the nutritional label.

With the hot dogs, how about having them with some fried onions & cabbage? That would add your fats back in to that meal. Next time you could get the regular version.

Same with the string cheese. As Georgiana mentioned, they add additional carby ingredients to LF versions of cheese. Next time look for the regular version.

It's almost impossible to buy string cheese that isn't low fat.

That being said, I never had any trouble with it.

string cheese is made from skim milk so it has a lower milk fat to begin with nothing added to it that isn't in regular mozzarella cheese. next time get a full fat cheese made from whole milk or cream
