  • 2nd times a charm??

I plan on starting again! I have a question. Although I've been off for about 6 mo. I haven't been eating sweets or many empty carbs. I have been eating all the veggies I want with all kinds of fruit. Will my induction be as hard as the first time? Will I get as sick as before? I know it's different for everyone but I was just wondering if certain kinds of sugar and carbs made a difference. Last time I started at 150 and got down to 135.5. I'm up to 140. I also gained two inches back around my waist. This time around my husband is doing it with me since he was the one to sabotage me to begin with.

    Any advice is welcome.

    Crystal ball hazy.

Mikaella... yes, everyone is different and has different reactions. Something I see often though is that people who repeat the plan find that it's slower going second time around, so be prepared to be patient. It will pay off in the end though; just might take a while longer. Congrats on hopping back on the wagon. Nice that you have company this time around.

Thanks Sally! Just looking for a little support. I carry my weight evenly so it's very easy to put this off. My husband is always telling me I look great and I figure, well, I'll start tomorrow. I've had months of tomorrows. My son just turned two and I breast feed him the whole way! I'm very proud of that because I made that
commitment to him and I kept it. I think I'm ready to put some time in for myself this year. We're Italian so I cook a lot everyday....before work, after work..... Anyway, my husband has decided to try this with me to help be more supportive with his dinner choices. I'm very happy about that.

Thanks again for commenting! It really made a difference in my day!

Your son will reap enormous benefits from your breastfeeding so long. Well done! But yes... now that you've stopped it'll be good to think a little about yourself.

            Happy losing!

You can do this. Also, since you don't have very much to lose..don't expect those BIG numbers you see from those that do. Aim for inches and don't worry about the scale so much. Drink that water and move on to OWL as soon as induction is over. Your son is so lucky to have had you and will be much more so when your taking care of you. God Bless

Nichole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You brought tears to my eyes! Thanks for your kind words. As adults we so often put ourselves last, but I have done it my entire life and because of that I am always almoooost there. I know this is my year because I finally am starting to believe I am worthy of going that extra mile for myself. This is not just about my appearence, it's about my future health. We just don't wake up obese...we gradually get there one pound at a time and I see now I'm on that path.

Thanks again! The affirmation is comforting.

                      Re: 2nd times a charm??

Honestly, we have not started yet. My husband asked if I would wait until after our SB party. I agreed. However, I've been staying away from bad carbs and eating a lot of veggies and some fruit. (Also, reading my book again.) This is really not hard for me. Exercising regularly is my battle, but I'm getting it all in daily, plus my water. I'm just priming the pump and ready to go. My husband is acutually doing great too. We've had fish for dinner and there was a lot of sauce, but he passed on the bread. For SB we're not having a lot of carbs really, but he wants to make a full commitment when he starts so that's why he'd rather wait till after game day. He said he's afraid he may find it too tempting to pass on a sandwhich.

How are you doing? Is it hard witht he all the boys?
