        >>so a cup should weight 8 ounces.>>

        Not at all.

        You're confusing weight and volume.

A "cup" of water = 8 ounces by volume. That's not what it weighs though.

hmm ok... i ckecked what a cup is in grams and it says 226 gr
and a cup messured in ml is 236 ml...

so when i eat veg and salad i must messure them in grams? so i would be allowed to eat 1 cup of mushrooms [for example] which is 226 gr?

yes i know.. im stupid lol

            You're not stupid at all.

You're trying to understand a system of measurement that you're not used to using!

            >i ckecked what a cup is in grams and it says 226 gr>>

Well ... I don't know where you got that information.

Again ... you're comparing volume and weight ... which you can't do.

            >> so when i eat veg and salad i must messure them in grams? >>

I think that would be easier for you.

            >>1 cup of mushrooms [for example] which is 226 gr>>

According to the USDA, 1 cup of pieces/slices would be about 70 grams.

Re: food journal - feel free to comment if i get something wrong

I can't remember where I heard this. It has something to do with internal body temp. If you do cardio or weight training allow 5 hr for your body to cool down before bedtime.
I like celery and tuna too. I keep celery whole & use as a spoon. 2 large celery stick is ~1 1/2 cup. Small (from the inside of the bundle) ~1/4 or 1/2 cup each. ~ = about

I usually have ~1/2 cup (bell peppers & onions or salsa) and 0carb cheese in my eggs @ breakfast. At lunch, 1 1/2 or 2 cup salad (green lettuces or baby spinach, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, mushroom, etc.) in a ~2 cup plastic container; my meat (tuna w/ mayo, mustard & spices, chicken, ground meat w/ salsa, or something else) in another container with cheese, boiled egg, other freebies and dressing in a baggie (blue cheese, spicy mustard w/ artificial honey, avocado w/ salsa & sour cream, etc. watch the carb count on store bought & ingredients). That gives me lot of energy for the afternoon (I have a desk job so don't need much in mornings) and leaves 1 or 1/2 cup in the evening for adding to dinner. I know this my not work for you, it is just what I do.

                  >>1 ounce = 28.34 grams,>>

That's true ... but that "ounce" is a measurement of weight, not of volume.

8 ounces of mushrooms by weight would not likely fit into a "cup".

Re: food journal - feel free to comment if i get something wrong

It really depends what's in that salad... and how you chop/shred the veggies. For example, USDA lists a cup of whole mushrooms at 96 grams, but a cup of sliced mushrooms is only 70 grams. A cup of chopped peppers is 149 grams, but a cup of sliced peppers is only 92 grams.

Instead of unnecessarily complicating your life with cups, weigh your foods and track them in FitDay by entering them in grams... making sure you don't eat more than 20 net carbs (total carbs minus dietary fiber) per day and that over half of your net carbs come from vegetables. So, if you eat 100 grams of celery, measured raw (you should measure raw whenever possible), then add 100 grams of raw celery to your FitDay food journal.

Spread your net carbs throughout the day, to avoid blood sugar spikes. Do not eat, let's say, 150 grams of pumpkin and 125 grams of red peppers for breakfast (that's almost 11 net carbs) and then only 50 grams of romaine lettuce (about 0.5 net carbs) for dinner.

Also, choose a variety of nutritious vegetables from both lists, not only vegetables that are lowest in carbs. In general, vegetables on the second list (the "Other Vegetables" list in Chapter 11 of DANDR 2002) are higher in carbs.

not gonna eat any carbs tonight
                            You eat your veggies tonight.

If you keep your net carbs to no more than 20 with over half of them coming from vegetables, you will lose weight. Starving yourself is not the solution.

Not eating any net carbs will not help you lose weight without likely creating mineral and vitamin deficiencies which in the end will slow down your metabolism.

You could also saute some mushrooms to go with the chicken. The mushrooms will reduce their volume in cooking, so you will be getting more net carbs per bite. A good thing if you are not hungry.

                                What's "ceg"?
