  • Coming Back

    Hi, all!

So, like many of you here, I was once incredibly successful on Atkins, only to let down my guard and gain everything back...and then some.

When I was in college, I lost over 40 lbs. on Atkins and was within spitting distance of my goal weight. In the nearly five years since then, I've ballooned to a high weight of 262 on a 5'6'' frame, and have become increasingly miserable.

However, I've finally gotten to a breaking point and am ready to change my eating habits for the better, and for good. I'm inspired by all of the support I've seen from the members on this board, and I know I can do this with ADBB at my side.

To kick things off, can you second-timers give me some of your best advice for success? Thanks!

    Welcome back!

If you haven't reread DANDR 2002 recently, I would encourage you to do so.

        Re: Coming Back

I just started back on Atkins again after being successful on it a few years back so I'm in the same boat.
This board was really helpful to me back then and am hoping that it will be once again.

          Re: Coming Back

Checking in daily helps me. Reread the book like Georgiana said, I had forgotten a lot. When you can have what. Don't assume you know how it is. Foods you added later last time, sometimes "mysteriously" end up in your induction or before you should have them (Mmmmm, Peanut butter for me). Watch for that.

            Re: Coming Back

Thanks for all of your tips. I've reread DANDR and have been on plan for five days and I'm already down 8 pounds! I know it won't all come off this fast, but it's great encouragement to keep on keeping on!

              Re: Coming Back

I agree - for me, it's about checking in here regularly. I didn't realize how much of a support system ADBB was until I was "off" program and ballooned to 340. That's just ridiculous..

So welcome back and keep in touch!
