  • Fell off the bandwagon

Well, I'm back again. I've been gone since December but I will be starting again tomorrow (have to make a grocery store run first). It seems like every time I get off of Atkins for any significant amount of time my whole body goes to pot! Right now I'm doing good to walk, suffering headaches, sinus problems and joint and muscle pain like you would never believe!
I can't figure out why I keep doing this to myself. I feel like the rat in the maze that keeps pushing the red lever and getting shocked instead of the blue lever and getting the cheese!
    Anyway, I'm back so howdy!

You need to figure it out ... or the pattern will likely repeat itself.

I'm hoping to stay with it this time. It's not even about weight anymore, that might be an incentive to stay on track. I went to the doctor for my severe sinus infection (eye almost swollen shut) after not being on the scales since I fell off plan. I weighed about 12 lbs less than I had when I stopped so it's not all about food. It's about health this time.

I hope I do figure it out, this is ridiculous on my behalf.

Well that is the path some of us take. And even if it does take you more than one try - it is the last successful one that will count. And by the sound of it I am thinking this may be it. Keep in touch.

            Welcome back, Jason!

How did you stop Atkins? Did you simply start eating super carby foods one day or did it all happen slowly?

What did you eat while not on Atkins?

It just happened. In a hurry, no time to cook grab something I shouldn't have and bam! Flat on my face off the bandwagon!
As far as what I have eaten while off plan, anything I wanted. I have a real soft spot for Rolled Gold pretzels and french onion dip! I'm more active than I used to be (until lately) so I didn't gain anything back, in fact like I said earlier according the doctors scales (haven't tried mine, don't plan on it because weight has little to do with it now) I lost weight!

Anyway, sometimes if we aren't diligent life will come up and knock us off plan.

                    Re: Fell off the bandwagon

Welcome back Jason. I'm glad to see you back. I fell off the wagon too when I was on Atkins in 08. I had lost over 20lbs, and gained it back when my husband went into the Army. But this time around it seems a lot easier. I'm not losing as fast as I was then, but I am enjoying the ride.

This is the furthest I made it on the Rung ladder. I may have made it to rung three (probably not). I know you can do it!
