  • Not hungry is a problem?

    HI all,
I never, ever thought I would have this 'problem', but I'm not hungry. Yes, that's a big hurrah moment for me, but I just moved to the first rung of OWL and I'm having a hard time getting down enough veggies. Just don't want 'em.
The fatty stuff like cream cheese is still okay. Meat of any kind-can take or leave it. But nothing really sounds good.

Again, it feels really strange to be worried about not being hungry. But I don't want to stall from too little intake.

    Advice?

PS Moderators, if this should be in OWL, please move it.

that is a natural feeling on Atkins when we are doing it correctly so enjoy the appetite controll assist your eating controls are getting. Listen to your body for other signals iut needs fuel and eat when you find them. Be sure not to exceed the 6 hour mark for consuming some food.

Ways to reduce the volum of your foods so you can get more nutriants consumed is to cook them. Grean leafy veggies like spinach will cook down to almost nothing. a whole bag of store bought spinach will wilt to less then 1/2 a cup

you could use frozen spinach and mix it with some garlic or other herbs and some of your cream cheese and "stuff" your proteins with it. you can make roll ups or pinwheels and it goes nicely under the skin of chicken parts.

You could purree some of your veggies for sauce like roasted red peppers, or a either red or green salsa or italian sauce.

I love to roast eggplant, garlic and onions and then purree them into a paste for spreading on sliced other veggies or meats.

and soups and stews are wonderful ways to get vegies liquid and protein consumed in one sitting. How about a bowl of chile with onoins tomatoes and peppers in there.
Cleochatra has a great cauloflower pizza crust that eats like a wheat crust would on her blog the lighter side of lowcarb along with some great ways to get veggies eatten like zuchinni doritios.

Re: Not hungry is a problem?

Thanks so much for the post. Great to know I'm doing this right!

I wonder if this is what the rest of the world feels all the time? I ask my dh who says he gets hungry, but it's no big deal. Hungry is always a big scary deal for me. It's such a psychological relief to not have that fear of hunger. (Wonder where that fear came from anyway? I've never starved, except on past diets from my late twenties--and the hunger fear came decades before the diet stuff.) okay, getting too deep now with TMI

Just sauted spinach along w/ my boiled eggs for lunch. I do love fresh sauted spinach!

      Again, thanks for the reply!
