    Good MORNING, STACers! I'm up way to early on a day I don't have to work. But it's all good. Still on track. Had a tooth pulled yesterday at noon and wasn't sure how I'd make it without ice cream. But I managed to eat scrambled eggs instead. Stayed on track, just didn't drink the water I should have. Took a long Lortab nap. But I'm up, I'm stoked and I'm sticking to plan.

    And little miss scaleaholic just COULDN'T stay away and I've lost 7 POUNDS SINCE MONDAY! I was NOT expecting these kinds of results on my second (third or fourth?) time around. Granted, years had passed, so maybe, just MAYBE. But I'm stoked and ready to yell to the world ATKINS WORKS!

    Stay strong, fellow Atkinsers. And DON'T FORGET YOUR VEGGIES!
    Drink more water!

    Bykerdruid: you are really sailing along, that is SO wonderful!!

    I weighed this morning and lost two pounds since yesterday so the 45 min on the treadmill worked a bit (even if it was water loss i will still call it all my hard work) I did a single minute on the eliptical and then i had to get off...are those things made for short people? the handles didn't seem long enough.

    Anyway don't forget your water everyone I'll try to get mine in too!!

      I'm happy for both of you having weight loss. I'm frustrated today with my lack of weight loss.....ARG Nothing in I weeks and STILL on induction. Just a pound or two would make me happy!!

      Anyway, off to the gym.

        This is Day 5 of clean induction for me. I'm down a fair bit of weight (12.5 lb) but then again I had a lot to lose. Drinking water like a fiend. No more headaches, but I still feel really lethargic. Trying to work up the energy to go to the gym.

          Hi STAC! I am on my second time around and the sad thing is I never did induction the first time since I didn't have a lot of weight to lose but I have learned now that I really needed to do it right. I backslid a bit (and my first time on Atkins was mid-January of this year) but today is Day 14 of induction and though I forgot to weigh today I have lost 5lbs over the last two weeks. YAY! I only have 20lbs to go and I am very excited. I have also learned that even though I run I cannot use that as an excuse to eat more carbs - it doesn't work that way for me. I just start to gain. Sad but true! My body seems to be more sensitive to carbs than I thought it was and though it was disappointing at first, I realize I may have to keep my carbs somewhat low through OWL in order to keep losing. However with my amount of weight to lose, I am actually pretty average in metabolic resistance according to DANDR book and induction results so I will consider that a good sign and move onto OWL tomorrow! Wish me luck and more veggies!

          New to Atkins but not new to dieting and happy I made the switch from lowcal/lowfat to low carb! I am not starving anymore!

              Checking in. Postponing my afternoon run due to thunderstorms--going to break out the exercise tapes instead. I'm ready for a low carb weekend!

                When the scales aren't moving, grab the tape measure. You can loose inches and not loose pounds. And wouldn't you rather weigh a couple of more pounds and look good in a bikini than weigh less pounds and have a muffin butt? Remember muscle weighs more than fat.

                  Hey STACers! Checkin' in and on day 10 of induction. Four more days to OWL rung 1! Still down 7lbs!

                    hi all. I am hurt again, and can hardly walk. There is such a fine line for me between doing good and ouch. I don't push. one day I do x miles in 20 min. the next x miles in 25 min and I am hurt again. same distance. sigh.... Hobbling along though, and glad I have a desk job or I wouldn't be able to even work.
                    We are in this together.

                      Muffin butt...you gave me a giggle. I did break out the measuring tape after posting and nothing new. Then yesterday, at the end of the day, I noticed that by belly is noticably flatter so YEAH!

                      Thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes I would rather look good in a bikini especially since I turn 46 next month (yikes)

                        At age 50, I can sympathize. If I ever even get into a bathing suit again will be nothing less than a miracle! LOL

                        As my mother always says, patcience and persaverance. Stick with it and you'll get results, you just have to remember all the places those results might be showing up. For me, the pounds will be a side effect of trying to control my diabetes. Last time was for pounds, this time is for life.
