  • A little bored....

I'm getting a little bored with pork chops, pork ribs, chicken, beef, pepperoni, cheeses, salad, broccoli, spinach, stir fry and celery. I went into Walmart food mart today for more Atkins-foods and felt a little deprived. I had to keep saying to myself, 'these high carb foods got me fat!' I don't like most approved veggies except the ones listed above and I'm truly a just repented carboholic (I'm in Induction).

BUT, I'm in it for the long haul!

Just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks for 'listening'.

    Does anyone else get bored?

It hit me this morning guys.....I really miss the breaded, gravy, sauces, curried topping for my meats. That's what I have to get over. That, and getting to know more veggies.

You can make sauces from pureed vegetables. If you need to thicken them, you can use cream, butter and/or egg yolks... or just reduce them.

Just keep telling yourself that eating those foods is what got you where you are in the first place--they are not worth it!

Gravies are fairly easy to make on this plan. I make some for chicken using a legal thickener and a bit of cream - it is really good. You just have to learn how to make them. I make a mushroom sauce with cream from my beef - it rocks.

And I see no reason not to use curry. I had curried chicken today.
