  • Question 4 Successful Weightloss?

This is only my 5th day on Induction. I'm already kinda frustrated. I feel like I'm getting sick of the meat, couple pieces of cheese, tuna, salad, etc. I'm wondering if this will really work? I want it to but I guess I'm scared of failure- b/c I've failed before.
I just turned diabetic last year. I would love to not take my pill anymore & lose some weight. Does anyone have ANY advice? I'd really appreciate it!

    Hi SportyDiva,

The first two weeks of Induction are fairly restrictive, but there are some good recipes on the LC web sites, some of which are fine for induction. Plus, after a couple weeks of induction you can, if you want, start adding in additional foods such as more veggies or nuts or the low carb bars. So, take heart - Low Carb has helped many diabetics such as myself lose weight and get our blood sugar levels down into the normal range. You might want to look at some of the other forums on this website, especially the ones for Induction and Diabetes. Good luck and stay with it!

Well, there's a lot more to Induction than meat, cheese, and iceberg lettuce for starters. Take a look at the Acceptable Foods list (http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-464579.html) and try some things you've not had before.

There can be a lot of variety even on Induction. However, you have to balance losing weight quicker with getting frustrated or bored. It's not going to help you at all if you quit completely, but you can still lose weight in OWL. Heck, that's even the name - ongoing weight loss

Many of the people here are committed to making permanent life changes. We understand some people will use this as a quick weight loss plan, then go back to their old way of eating, but you won't find a lot of support for that method. It also takes time to lose weight. Plan on *no more* than 2lbs/week on average. Few people are able to hit that number, too.

There are going to have to be sacrifices for this to work, but it shouldn't be anything terribly painful...
