  • 1 Week Down - 10 Pounds Gone

Well, even though I was a doubter because I have tried this before, I will doubt no more. When I tried it before, I tried to adjust Atkins around my lifestyle. This time I adjusted myself to Atkins and it is working. I have lost 10 pounds since last Friday. I have had 25 pounds to lose for the last 2 years.

I have done it all. Actupuncture, hypnosis, slim fast, hydroxicut, stop eating patches, dexatrim, hollywood diet, high fat, low fat, and 2 weeks ago I spent 20$ on Trim Spa.

I was working last week and one of those pop-ups came up for Atkins. I was going to blow it off but for some reason I went in to the web site and ended up at this forum.

I would like to thank everyone for their contributions because I read my own story a lot of times. I thought if they can make the commitment so can I . The cool thing is, as the work drove on I found myself thinking less about food and being less hungry.

I started at 205, was 195 this morning and my goal is 180 by July 1.

One question I have is, has anyone found a good night time snack. My wife and kids always have an evening snack (non- Atkins) and I try to think of something that would be good. Any suggestions.

ps. that junk about it being all water weight is a bunch of bunk. Even when I was taking water pills etc I could not get my weight to budge.

Thanks again and everyone have a great day !! :icondance :joy

Today I tried ham rolls, mmm mmm good. Quick & easy, thinly sliced ham, spread a little cream cheese on and roll it up. I ate 3 whole pieces of ham but halved the pieces to psychologically pig out.

sugar free jello w/homemade whipped cream!

I like to chop the jello into jewelbright pieces and mix the whipped cream in, place in a tall parfait glass and not only is it pretty, but it tastes great!! You could also make several flavors, and combine them all in this as well.

Tonight, I had left over whipped cream, so I added about a tablespoon of cocoa, a little extra Splenda and a drop or two of vanilla. It made a chocolate mousse-ish type thing that was great!!

Sometimes I wrap a slice of ham or roast beef around a string cheese, or layer pepperoni slices w/cream cheese and make little sandwiches for munching.

Also, look for the "clouds" recipe if you're a cheesecake fan. I got about 82 pieces out of the recipe, which makes them .2 carbs per piece. They taste like little frozen cheesecake peices, and make a good ice cream substitute. You could keep the recipe as is, or add SF syrups or flavorings to jazz it up a little. You could also add chocolate to the recipe for variety.

          enjoy...and stay with it!!

              IDEAS FOR SNACKS!!

              :joy
I have found that Russell Stovers sells Sugar Free candy w/ Splenda. They are less than 1 gram of carbs and delicious! They run less than a $1.00 each and have many to choose from. I usually keep one in my desk at work to keep me away from the M&M's on my bosses desk!!

Also, tuna salad rolled in spinach leaves is good! There are so many name brands that have low carb stuff. Dannon has great yogurt, Quaker makes a yummy breakfast/snack bar. Beef jerky is great! Just browse the store...you will be surprised!

                  What is your menu like?

I don't really hav any snack recipes since I am not big on sweets but I hav had the low carb icecream bars ....I can't recall who makes them but costco has them in bulk......I cnt remember how many carbs they are I am sure that one would be your carb quota for the day......

What I want to know is what you ate the week u lost 10lbs ....I hav to be honest I am back on but I think that I hav to switch up my menu...I may hav some hidden carbs in some of my choices....and it seems like the smallest amount of wrong carbs holds back the success......

I eat eggs every morning with some veggies and some sort of meat polish sausage ect....then lunch usually a very large salad with chicken breast....dinner may be a steak or more chicken.....I hav had pre-marinated tritip which may hav sugar...I usually read labels but I don't recall checking the tritip label.....it is soooooooooo good...... I know that cheeze is like 4oz only during induction ....atkins worked for me the last time I did it and it became very easy once I was loosing the weight.... I want to shed 10 lbs by next friday.....only because I already hav gone since tuesday cutting out all bread pasta and starch....so I want some reward for my efforts........

I am trying to get rid of my pregnancy weight.....

What about an atkins rootbeer float...diet rootbeer on ice with whipped cream.

Re: 1 Week Down - 10 Pounds Gone

I try to be very careful about what I eat at night. If I have a snack it is either sugar-free jello or something with protein/fat. If I eat something too sweet late at night I start getting cravings.

So be careful, whatever you choose to do.
