Re: Starting tommorrow , Any tips???
Hi there CTC! I am a canuck too! This Way of Eating doesn't have to be difficult or too restrictive. i agree with the mantra of read the book and re read the book. It is important to know what Dr. Atkins says about doing Atkins! He designed it after all!
One thing as a canadian that you will find. Many of the foods that are available to Americans are not available here in Canada. I personally do use helmans mayo, sugar is the 7th ingredient on the bottle, and after the fifth ingredient the content is drastically reduced. This however is a personal choice. If you are ever in doubt of weather a product is a good thing to have, put it into http://www.fitday.com/ (fitday) along with all of the other foods you are eating in a day and keep track of your carbs and daily totals of calories, carbs fat and protein ratios. (they should be 65%fat, 5%carbs and 30% protein.) If you do a very clean induction (meaning no cheats) then you are well on your way to breaking sugar addiction and getting control of your weight in hand. Also make sure you take your measurements. You will be very glad you did! And not just your waist. Go to fittogether to find out where to measure your body, they give you reports to track it and you can update it as you lose! here is the link for fittogether. http://www.fittogether.net/
Sign up for some challenges, get to know people around the board, ask questions and read peoples journals for inspiration and making new friends. These things have helped me lose 52 lbs in just over 3 months. I started on January 8th. I am already half way to my goal, and you can do it too! Just use the tools Dr.A has given you in his book, and the ones you will find here and start losing!
BTW, welcome to ADBB! It is nice to have you here!
