  • 8lbs and almost 2% Body Fat in 4 days

    I would just like to thank everyone on this website. This is my first post but I have been reading everyone else's stories and seeing the amazing before and after pictures - so I decided to try it.

    I bought a scale that will also show body fat percentage and water. So on Saturday morning I weighed 177.0lbs with 31.1% Body Fat and 47.9% water content. This morning I weighed 168.4lbs with 28.3% Body Fat and 50.7 water content.

    So according to this, with the Atkins induction it does not appear to be a water weight loss in the beginning (at least not for me). I just wanted to post after so short a period to encourage other people who may be starting out and thinking they are only loosing water weight.

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Thanks. Hopefully I'll be back to post here when I reach my goal of 120lbs.

            I'm trying to deal with the same cravings, i started on Sunday, weighed 15st 12lbs 2 ounces, and i'm now down to 15st 2lbs, 2 ounces.

            One word of advice - don't rely too much on those body fat scales - they are very inacurate as measurements can be affected by various things such as time of day, whether you've just got out of the shower, etc, etc, etc.,

            I've got the Tanita body fat monitor and scales. The instuctions advise that readings should be taken for bodyfat later on in the day around the late afternoon time for a more accurate picture. As i've taken my bodyfat percentage this morning for example and it measured 31% however this evening it measures 27%

                  Just an update.

                  I've now lost over 11 lbs and 3.5% body fat. I really love the Atkins plan and am so glad I tried it. I'm NEVER hungry!

                    woo ho for you. Now since you have been reading you know a slow down is a coming so don't let it beat you and convince you to stop or change your Atkins cause the inches and pounds will move again.

                      I'm going to try really hard to remember that. I think it is easier to not cheat when the weight is coming off. Maybe after the two week mark, I'll only weigh myself every two weeks.

                        That slow down you are refering to.......I have hit it. I am on day 12 of induction, the first few days I lost 10lbs....I haven't lost anything in the last week. I am eating WAY less and almost no carbs and still keeping up the water intake. How long does this slow down last? Also, I started exercising five days a week at curves last week. Thought for sure that would prompt some more loss, but it hasn't.

                        Here's an average day for me.....

                        BREAKFAST
                        one egg fried
                        2 cups water
                        one viactiv multi-vit (4 gr carbs)

                        2 cups water

                        LUNCH
                        one piece fried chicken breast
                        or
                        two small cheeseburger patties (mcdonalds dbl cheese w/out bun)
                        2 cups water

                        2 cups water

                        CURVES 30 min
                        2 cups water

                        DINNER
                        medium sized steak
                        sauted mushrooms
                        1/4 cup wax beans
                        2 cups water

                        24 oz hot peppermint tea (2 bags & 3 splenda packets)
                        age-25
                        ht-5'5
