  • Question About Sugar Cravings

Ok I have been on this diet for about 1 1/2 days so far and I am just wondering, :help if I am on this for a certain period of time, will my sugar cravings go away. I heard they do because your body gets rid of any sugar stored in your body or something like that and you no longer desire for it? Is this true, if so how long (averagely) does it take to get to this point? :joy

Hi Harry's Fan, I am a big Harry fan myself. You should see a marked reduction in your sugar cravings within a few days, and actually an overall decrease in your appetite period. You can help this process by eating plenty of fat and protein, and choosing only foods on the Induction list, the better job you do of staying away from diet drinks and such, the sooner you will 'kick' your addiction.

You may still find you have a surge in sugar cravings when it is time for your period, this is normal and you just have to kind of stick it out. Make sure to get a good vitamin, Centrum Silver is recommended, I know it is for old folks! but we use it for Atkins as well. Sometimes stores have their own generic brand, I know some 16 year olds have more pocket money than others.

Good luck, make sure to visit the Induction forum, you may see answers to tomorrow's questions today!

Well then, good for you! One less thing you have to worry about! Be thankful you don't have to deal with it! :yes Your sugar cravings should subside as long as you play by the rules, and watch for hidden sugars in your foods. READ READ READ labels, they add sugar to everything.

You might want to stay away from anything sweet. Sweetened diet soda, flavored water...etc. I know I had some seltzer sweetened with nutra sweet one time and my sugar cravings went through the roof! Dr A also reccomends L-Glutamine for sugar cravings taken before meals.

You're so lucky to be a guy. These sugar cravings are the pits.
My husband always has chocolate around and it is driving me nuts.
I'm going to have to try that supplement myself.
