    I started on Atkins last week and after 7 days have lost an amazing 8lbs - I din't expect to lose so much. I have about 61lbs to lose and think I can maybe do it on this but the thing that's worrying me most is that I get bad PMT and syugar cravings just before my menses. I'm terrified that I ruin all my good work so far by having a blow out when I'm feeling bad at this time of the month.

    Does anyone else experience this? If so how do you get past it and overcome it to make the diet a success? I'd really appreciate some help on this

    One thing that always helps with these pmt blues is lots of exercise, lots of water, a couple extra B vitamens daily before, during, and just after, or maybe a long hot soak in your bathtub. If the temptaions are killing you, you might want to try getting out of the house and away from the cravings by going for a walk, a drive, or paying a visit to a supportive friend who has no chocolate in his or her flat. Another alternative,since feeling deprived is another nasty effect of PMS, try buying yourself a treat of another kind, such as a new music CD, best selling novel, or beautiful new sweater for those cool Scottish breezes.       Yeah. I go kick my own @$$ on the weight bench or the stationary bike when I've noticed a tendency to crave bad foods. Or I get out of the house and do something physical, weather allowing. Exercise is a great appetite suppressor and burns calories too.
