  • Flavored waters???

I can only drink regular ol' water when I'm working out....I know it's not good to drink flavored waters with Nutrasweet, but what about flavored waters flavored with Splenda? Is it giving me the same nutritional value? Also, how much soda does everyone drink a day? I've never drank regular pop, just diet, always. Yet, since I discovered Nutrasweet slows down your weight loss, I only drink Diet Rite.

Another thing is I'm not terribly overweight, I'm 145 lbs (but I'm only 5"2!), and I've been on Induction for 3 days....I've actually found I've gained weight....do you gain weight until your body switches over to whatever mode it's supposed to switch over to? Also, do people that aren't horribly overweight lose weight slower? Thanks alot guys!!

    Hi Amber,
I believe water sweetened with Splenda is a better choice then water sweetened with Nutrasweet, but you are limited to three servings of Splenda per day during induction. Furthermore these waters do not count towards your daily tally of plain ole water which is minimum 64 ounces. This goes for the Diet Rite as well, one can is one serving of sweetener, so be careful not to over do it.

Some people still drink diet soda during induction, some people completely kick the habit. It all depends on who your talking to. Ultimately you should avoid it, especially if its sweetened with Aspartame. I myself drink 1-2 diet soda's per day on top of 200 oz's of water. I'm not in induction anymore, I didn't drink any soda during induction.

You should not be gaining weight on induction...but you may be gaining some muscle. Please post your menu in the "review my menu forum" so you can hear some suggestions as to what may be possibly causing this. Other things to consider, hormonal fluctuations, TOM.

Yes, people who have less weight to lose will most likely lose at a slower pace. Its perfectly normal, let us know how you progress.

Just an FYI, since you are just starting out, you may want to post in the induction forum. Your questions will probably be answered faster there.

I haved bought "SmartWater" found at most health food stores and Whole Foods markets. It has no carbs, no sugars and it had several great flavors for those who miss their juice in the morning. They have cranberry, grapefruit and orange... Enjoy!

I felt really bloated and uncomfortable for the first few days of Induction. I didn't get on the scale for the entire first week, but I'm willing to bet that my weight was up for those first few days.
