  • anybody ever had a problem like this

i need help! on march 15 i weighed 138 lbs, a little more than i wanted to but i could deal with it( i'm 5'7"). today (7/31) i weigh 158 lbs. i am taking lexapro 10 mg/day. i also take ovcon 35. i'm pretty sure i gained the weight from the ovcon 35.
i have done the atkins diet 3-5 times over the past 5-6 years, losing 17-27 lbs the first week or two.
since march i've started (and quit from frustration) the atkins diet like 4 times. in the first two weeks i'll lose, maybe 5 lbs. only to gain it right back the day i quit.
my clothes don't fit and i am MISERABLE!
i've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what i should do.
i think i have decided to change birth control pills, AGAIN.
i have tried about 15 different kinds over the past 9 years. my DR must think i'm crazy. low dose pills aren't enough to keep me even a little regular. so this last time he put me on this high dose pill. it helps, but at the cost of 20-some lbs.
i'd rather have irregularity than 20 FREAKING POUNDS!
    somebody please help!!!!!!!!!! :anger
oh, and i drink 100-120 oz of water a day

The medication could be making you gain weight but I think your biggest problem you need to deal with is the fact that you keep starting and quitting, Atkins is a diet for life not a fad diet that you can go on and off you have to make the decision to stick with it or you will gain weight everytime you go off of it.

i think the reason i'm so frustrated is the first time i was on atkins i was like 22 years old, i wanted to lose baby weight (he was a year old) and during like the first 2 weeks i lost 27 lbs. to go back to my normal weight of about 135. after that i pretty much went back to eating whatever and pretty much kept off the weight. then i took the depo shot and christ, i gained like 20 lbs then too. i did atkins again and wasn't really committed so i didn't see the results i wanted. then i got pregnant with my second son. afterwards the weight dropped off quickly. but after a few months i was up to around 145 and unhappy, yo-yo'd with atkins then commited to it and lost like 20 lbs again. then like i said in april i started this ovcon 35 (because i never wanted to gain weight like i did with depo, funny huh ) but i've been doing atkins totally by the book, drinking crazy amounts of water and not losing nearly what i used to
i use the keto strips and they show between little and moderate
i'm not hungry at all like before when atkins was working
everything sees the same XCEPT THE WEIGHT LOSE
      and it really really sux

What are you eating? I know that I have done atkins a total of 3 times and this last time I didnt loose even close to as fast- but then I realized I was "cheating" on induction with Frankenfoods. I would go by the book for the first half of the day then I would cheat and have some sugar free candies or I would have some peanut butter or something. Those are big no no's for induction. I cleaned up my induction and started to loose again- though still not as close to as fast as the first times.
Also, have you started working out? If you have remember that muscle weighs more then fat so as your body is coverting itself into a muscle machine and it doesnt register your weight lose on the scales- maybe if this is the case you should start taking your measurements?
Whatever you do, dont go off this, this is a way of life; i know as soon as i reach goal i will never be able to eat a whole coffee cake again. As sad as that is I also know I will never have to shop in the plus department again either!

Some of your amazing 27lb weight loss may have been the "baby fat" that would have come off eventually... Try not to compare, and think about following it for more than two weeks and going beyond induction to a slower but more permanent weight loss. You can do it!
