  • I'm new at this - any tips?

:wave Hi everyone! I am just starting on Atkins today, and I'm a little leary. I've tried two times in the past, only to pig out on bread and milk within a couple of days. Does anyone have any tips for me on how to get through the first week or so? What worked for you? And, how much weight did you lose in the first couple weeks? Does this Atkins thing really work? Lots of questions, but from where I stand, it's hard to believe. I'd like to give it another shot, though. Thanks!!!

"pig out" on legal foods throughout the first two weeks ! That is what helped me! Eat whenever you are hungry so you never find your self starving.

:yes Hi to animal 373. I am only on my fourth day and a newbie as well. Had some thoughts when I read your letter that have helped me so far and by the way with exception of second day which found me very tired I am feeling just GREAT! I am keeping things simple, eating six times a day to keep me from feeling hungry. I cook about 3 days supply of assorted items such as vegies, fish and chicken. Also the meats that are already cooked and just need to be heated has been a big help. A celery stick filled with cream cheese is my 6th meal as well as my evening snack to satisfy me with something crunchy. I hope some of this may help you. Good luck-you will succeed!!

!!! WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER arty !!!

Water makes a HUGE difference in your weight loss, and it is funny how it makes you crave things so much less!

Also, stock up on legal things and have them surround you! I had a very hard time with being hungry and not having anything to snack on in my cupboards except my boyfriends Dorritos (resisted temptation but boy, does that ever make you cranky!).

I think the first time I started this WOL (way of life) I lost abot 20 pounds in the first month.... then I flaked and gained it all back- SO DONT CHEAT!!! EVER!!!!!!!!
