  • My success story, hope it encourages someone!!

Hi, I am new to this board, but wanted to share my atkins story with you guys to hopefully give someone some encouragement...
My family has a horrible weight problem, so I felt pretty doomed! Both my mom and dad and two sisters had the gastric bypass surgery and I wanted to do something about my weight before it came down to surgery!! So I looked into atkins when I weighed 223. On the first induction attempt, I failed.
Then I realized I really had to do something because my boyfriend and others were treating me differently and I had developed a really low self esteem, So once again I started induction...after two weeks I had lost 16 lbs!! I was sooo excited, so of course I had to keep doing it because hey! this diet actually worked...
I was 223 then and now I am 128 in a size 4, my goal weight was 150, but it just kept coming off and now I am extrememly happy with myself and the way I look.
You can do it!! You really can!! It is so much easier to do Atkins now then when I started because of all the "low-carb" menus at restraunts and items at grocery stores.
if I did it...anyone can do it!!!!
Remember:the easiest way is "Out of sight, Out of mind" remove all your breads and sweets from your home and load it with meat, cheese, and salad!!!
    Goodluck!
Don't just grab at the first thing that comes along, learn to refuse something that won't get you anywhere.

Wow, I am so very happy for you. I've known two people who've gotten the GBS and it is really hard on them. You can only eat like a bird and it seems everything they eat makes them sick. Glad you took charge before you had to go through that.

Your story was so inspiring. I know I am going to make it this time, and hearing stories like yours just make me even more determined. Thanks for sharing.

              Good for you!
I just got back on the wagon again, too. My story is almost the same as yours, the whole family has a weight problem.

Did you do a walking routine while dieting?
How long did it take you to get to 128?
What were your favorite at home meals?

Great job! Thank you so much for taking the time to write.

I'm in induction and getting no where, but then I can't claim to have done a perfect induction either....life is a little stressful right now. I know, no excuse, but true nonetheless. So...TY TY TY for keeping my motivation going :joy

Awesome Jessica!!! I guess my only question is: How did you fail on the induction? Did you eat carbs or did you just give up?

I'm only on day 2 of my induction.
