  • My Success Story

My story does not actually stem from being on the Atkins diet, but actually getting to the point where I needed to lose weight and here I am!
It's been tough to try to diet. Just putting on my black jeans, I'm telling myself that they shrank the last time they went through the laundry! I got away with that excuse for awhile until I had to bend down and tie my sneaker!
Gaining weight always hits me first in the waist. If I don't take that as a hint, then the indulge bulges and before long there's no space left in my shirts and my bathrobe belt needs an extension.
At one time in my life, going back about twenty years ago, I took a size 2X shirt. Through a pill I had to take about three years ago, I had lost thirty pounds in two weeks. I knew this isn't the way to lose weight, but after the side effects died down, slowly the 16 per week became 6 per week and then when it hit 1 or none per week. I was in search of a diet plan.
Yesterday my Dad called and told me that my older brother and his wife were on the Atkins diet and have lost over 20 pounds (not sure if that's the exact number, but it's significant).
I know I'll miss the oreo's, but I don't want to have an average/chubby body the rest of my life! I'd rather a profile read: average/muscular!
Now this is going to be a challenge.
Water: I drink one or two 32 oz. bottles of spring water a day. They are about 70 cents each and I buy them by the case, sometimes 2 cases.
End of story, but not the challenge!!
Tom in CNJ, who takes a size M/L shirt, depending on the cut!
    New here as of 6-14-2003!
I'm Tom and I have KlinefelterSyndrome (.org)
I have many more disabilities than the website has information for. Need a diet format to follow.
