  • Yup...new jeans

My size 8's are too big. Bought two pair of size 6 jeans today!!!

And, the dang scale hasn't changed in 2 months, nor have the 5 measurements I take! But the jeans that fit 2 Fridays ago (casual Friday, but I didn't work last week) today practically fell off.

    Yay me!
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

Nicksmom - I noticed that you re-started in March. I weighed just a little more than you did when I started in May and my Goal is just a little higher than yours is. I am so impressed with how you did and it seems like you did it quickly. I feel like I am going so slow! I've only lost 14 pounds so far. Please tell me if you moved up the rungs and if so, did it slow you down?

                        Re: Yup...new jeans

Thanks for your support and cheers all, I really appreciate it!!!

Kislandmom, in March I did induction for 2 weeks, Rung 1 for 4, adding 5 carbs/week. So, by the time I went to rung 2, I was eating TONS of veggies. 40 carbs worth of veggies. And then I got to 149 (not on an offical day though), so I started adding the new rung foods, but kept the carbs about 40 for a while, like the next 4 rungs. Pretty much til starchy veg, I went to 50 then, and 60 at whole grains. I love the way I'm eating, so I've chosen to stick there, I imagine I could go higher with my metabolism and activity level. My loss looked like this:

                        3/11/2006 163.5
                        3/18/2006 155 -8.5
                        3/25/2006 152 -3
                        4/1/2006 151 -1
                        4/8/2006 150 -1
                        4/15/2006 150 0
                        4/22/2006 146 -4
                        4/29/2006 144.5 -1.5
                        5/6/2006 143 -1.5
                        5/13/2006 141.5 -1.5
                        5/20/2006 140.5 -1
                        5/27/2006 142.5 2
                        6/3/2006 139 -3.5
                        6/10/2006 137 -2
                        6/17/2006 136 -1
                        6/24/2006 137.5 1.5
                        7/1/2006 137.5 0
                        7/8/2006 138.5 1
                        7/15/2006 138 -0.5
                        7/22/2006 137.5 -0.5
                        8/5/2006 135.5 -2

So I'd say it's been pretty steady. I had added all the rungs by June 1, I'd gone half way up OWL befoer I got pg so moved quickly this time.

I do 1/2 hour cardio every other night, 1/2 hour strength training the other nights. My kids don't sleep, so I swear I burn 500 more calories than normal people, just because I'm up so much more!!! And I had just come off nursing, I know that has something to do with it too.

And, don't believe the stupid scale!!! As this post proves, that number means nothing. I've only lost 1-1/2 lbs in 2 months, but I'm down a size or more.

And besides, it's not a contest (see my siggie), and I'm just lucky! The real test is maintenace for me

Hope that helps, and can't wait to hear your success story.

                        Hugs
                        Denise
