  • Weight loss at 50

    Hiyas all,

Happy to read all the great stories of weight loss here. For those that are having a hard time, just stick in with it and have faith. Weight loss is a very hard thing to do. The smokers that say it is harder to quit smoking, well... just tell them, try to go without potatoes or a pizza fully loaded and see how they react. Sure they will say no problem.. but tell them to go 6 months or 1 year without it and they have no clue. We are such a group of dedicated individuals that go every day without the cravings... well once and a while we break but we get right back on our goal because it feels so sweet when we fit into that old pair of pants or for you ladies, put on that dress that you never thought your would ever fit again.

Sweet are our accomplishments, sad for those who are jealous.. Yes, your co-workers or friends that simply look at you every day when you are loosing weight and just grovel and self loath (AVOID these people). And you are sitting there appreciating every moment of your time. But there are those who come up to you and admire you for your commitment (MAKE FRIENDS of these people). Some know the struggle we are going through and appriciate it (LIKE YOUR DOCTOR). Others, just are so insanly jealous that they just grumble (fools). But you are now in the Cat-Bird seat watching over your achievements.

Please, for heavens sake, be humble to the Jealous herd, and be forever appreciative to the greatful and thank them. You are now in full control of your life and you can continue to loose until your goal weight and maintain a life that your family and your DOCTOR will be so very happy with.

So sorry for this long post... but I went to my doctor the other day and got a full blood test. After he returned with the results, he told me I am so close to unclogging my arteries and improving my health that he shook my hand, hugged me and my wife, and said he was proud of me. He was Proud of ME. Never in my life had a doctor say that to me. He is from India and I think I have found a doctor that I can visit forever.

Thank you all for hearing my story. Good luck to all of you. This is a life changing plan you are on and IT WORKS even at age 50. Never too late to start.

Congratulations. I am 56 and think that life is just glorious after two weeks on Atkins. Last time I did Atkins several years ago, I went right back to eating my old way...guess I just wasn't "mature" enough to realize that Atkins has to be a way of life. I also didn't have this BB. It has been a great help me. Congratulations to you and to your wife who is probably relieved that your old arteries are getting younger!!!!
