  • My success Story

I started in July and lost about 40 lbs in about 2. 5 months by staying on induction the entire time and never cheating. Follow it exactly until you are within 5-10 lbs of goal weight. Don't waiver!

I am down a little more now but no longer on induction and have no intention of following atkins by the book after this. But I will follow its general principle of keeping carbs down.

    I did no exercise.

After induction I still keep carbs down and don't eat potatoes, rice, pastas, bread. I snack a lot on summer sausage, cheese and peanuts. Peanuts are a great snack. Low in net carbs because they have a lot of fiber.

After leaving induction I have cheated and had a piece of cake, potato chips, pretzels, etc.. from time to time but in small amounts this is ok.

WEIGH YOURSELF every day to get immediate feedback from poor decisions such as 2 pieces of cake instead of 1. Do not go several days without weighing.

I drink cofee and diet coke like it is going out of style now and I continue to lose. Caffeine has not caused me to binge.

Now wear large shirt instead of XXL.
Waist size is 34 instead of 39.
    Had pants taken in.
Can now wear neck size 15.5 instead of 16.5 or 17.

You know what is odd? I am particularly sensitive to other overweight people. I notice that now. I notice how many people are severely overweight. It is so easy to find yourself in that position. That darn food chart was wrong. You don't need grains. That killed us!
    Starting Weight - 225 lbs
    Now - 183 lbs
    Goal - 180 lbs
    Started Atkins 7/19/04

I'm glad this worked for you,but to tell other people to do as you did may not be in there best interests.

So to all who read this beware,it is recommended to follows the rungs as listed to know what foods can cause cravings and to know how many carbs your body can handle before it starts to gain.

Everybody has there way of low-carbing,but to tell people to do it your way with no waivering just might cause them trouble.
    We can do it!!
