A week ago today I entered "ONEderland"! I didn't want to get too excited, but today on my weekly weigh-in day I was still under the big 200, so I thought I'd share my success story!
I weighed 258 last new year's, then started Atkins on a whim three weeks later at 253 lbs. I had heard about Atkins and ketosis and low carb dieting... and I was curious. So one night last winter, my curiosity sent me to the store, and I picked up DANDR and read the first two chapters right there in the aisle. It made perfect sense right from the start! I started right then and there.
I lost ten pounds in two weeks of induction, then ten more pounds in the next three weeks. In five more weeks I'd lost another ten. So in ten weeks, I'd lost thirty pounds and had dropped from a 42" waist to a 38" waist. I've had my struggles now and then (including two back injuries in the next three months which made it impossible to exercise for a time), but now I'm in the best shape I've been in years and feeling great! I'm wearing 35" pants and even the clothes I purchased over the summer are baggy on me! haha
I might also mention that I play tennis in a weekly league. My stamina has increased and my game has improved immensely. In fact, I won my tennis league in the season that ended last May! :joy This season (which started in September) I find I'm playing even better!
I have about 15 lbs that I still want to lose, and I'll keep ya'll posted on that. I am happy to have found this board where I have received much inspiration, and now, hopefully, I've given some inspiration back.
Keep on losing!
