I am going to name this as, ode to my favorite foods..
It's 7 am on a Saturday and daddy yells, "come on kids time to go the park"!! 7 Campbells Soup kid look alikes came bounding down the steps and load up in the station wagon.
At the park daddy rushes us off to play as he fires up the grill, sets up his coffee tin coffe pot, and sets to making pancakes. By the time he was done there was a spread laid out to feed a small army..Thats what we were. There was pancakes, eggs, sausage, buiscuits, ham and fried potatos. Yes all coooked on a grill. What a wonderful picture this paints, until daddy realizes that all the food isnt eaten. He dont want to waste it of course!! So as the day goes on, we play, we eat. Back and forth, not leaving once ounce of food to cart home...Clean your plate or you dont get to get up and play.
This is a long road to come back from...To this day I have a hard time leaving food on my plate..Today was a success!! I did leave the food, without feeling gulity..I smiled to myself as I scraped my remaining food into the garbage.
Scene two..
My 3 daughters wake up on a Saturday morning, "Whats for breakfast mom?" I say Sausage biscuits and gravy, Fired taters and eggs, they never wanted the eggs.
The comfort I felt, warming up the oven for the bicuits and the scent of all this cooking together was blissful..ohh how I grieved for this, for now my daughters are 18..24 and 27.
The still ask me to fix all this but now I just say no, its not good for you to have all them carbs...and I laugh, they look at me funny, and I turn and smile to myself..Another Success!!!
