  • Question regarding weight loss

Hello Everyone, I have been reading the threads is this site ans there is alot of information, which is great.

My question is with the experience of everyone in here... What was your avg weight loss per month. I know there can be alot of variables but ball park.
I do realize that guys can loss more quickly than gals... I'm a gal LOL!!
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you might find, you get what you need.

    Re: Question regarding weight loss

Hey there! I seem to be averaging about 10 pounds a month. I exercise 1 hr a day, and am pretty compliant with the diet. My biggest cheat is an Atkins shake on the days that I have therapy for my arm. I'm in OWL, now, just at rung 1 - gotta have the veggies. If everything goes well, I hope to lose all of the weight in 6-8 months.

My hubbie began the month after I did. He's down 40 lbs. (started mid-Jan). He has 140lbs to lose... he'll be looking at months, as well.

A lot has to depend on how much you have to lose, your age, your gender, etc.

Stick with it! You'll be proud of your results!!

      Re: Question regarding weight loss

I have about almost 50 pounds to lose...and I lose an average of about 8-10 pounds a month...but remember the closer you get to goal...the weight loss slows down.

I lose about 2.3 pounds a week on average (thank you fitday) and some months have 5 weeks, so I will lose more those months..does that makes sence?

        Re: Question regarding weight loss

Last time i averaged about 2lb a week, but the inches lost was far more impressive,

I kinda figure with atkins and most people seem to agree that at a clothes size youve been at before you weigh more when you get to it thru atkins, some will say this is muscle gain, but i'll disagree because i didn't do anything to gain muscle lol, i have RA so struggle with that part of this WOE.

Anyway it depends on other stuff, how much you have to lose is the main one, those people with lots to lose will lose far quicker than those with not so much.
Those who do more exercise will lose quicker than those who dont do much...

          Re: Question regarding weight loss

          Hello!

At first of course the weight kinda came off pretty fast, I think I lost 25 pounds after 4 week induction. Moved onto owl, dropped about 10 each month. Until Christmas time, ugly. Gained 14. Refocused, remotivated, restarted induction after Valentines day, now lost 20, for a grand total of 75. I did it without alot of exercise, which I wish I'd done more of now. It really hurts. haha!

Just depends on the person and how serious you are about watching what you eat and when you eat. I really think my best tool was WATER. Plenty of it. Every day....no matter what, religiously....100oz +.

Best of luck, Life is good!

              Re: Question regarding weight loss

In all the below, rate varies with individual food intake, metabolic rate, exercise, age, amount you need to lose, etc.

Fastest loss during initial 2-week induction

              Fast during exteded induction

Faster during early OWL, then slowing as carbs increased and/or you have less weight to lose

              Slower during Pre-maintenance

              Zero loss/gain ideally during maintenance

WEIGHT GAIN IF YOU GO BACK TO YOUR OLD WAY OF EATING THAT GOT YOU FAT!
