  • 21 days and counting

Well I am new to this diet, but I am enjoying the results! I have been on Atkins for 21 days and have lost 35 lbs! I started at 238 lbs and this morning I weighed 203. It is so exciting and not as difficult as I thought it would be. I was the heaviest I had ever been at 238 and I just decided it was time to do something about it. 12 years ago I weighed 141 lbs when I got pregnant with my daughter. I gained alot during the pregnancy and 2 years later I had my youngest daughter so I never lost any of the weight. My goal I want to reach is 160. Only 43 more lbs! I have read alot of your success stories and it only makes me want to do it more. Thank you for having this group.

          Re: 21 days and counting

Well the only tips I have are not really nothing new as I have read them on here. Lots of water, I have been walking 2 miles a day, and no cheating is the most important. I was addicted to Cokes really bad for about 17 years and gave them up in 2 days. I have found that if I need a soft drink, I like the Sprite Zeros and Coke Zeros the best but I limit myself to one a day. I guess it is just sheer willpower for me to be able to do this because a month ago I would have never imagined this in my wildest dreams. Thank you all for your replies.

Wow you have done really really well, Congratulations.

35lbs in 21 day (3 weeks) is a staggering amount of weight to have lost! I havent heard of anyone lose so much weight so quickly. Especially bearing in mind that you only wanted to lose 75lbs in total.

I'd love to hear how you did it. Please share.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I assume as you are most definitely NOT metabolically resistant to weightloss you have now moved to OWL (the main weightloss phase of Atkins) and are experimenting with eating more veggies. Keep up the good work!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                      Re: 21 days and counting

Thank you all so much for your replies and your enthusiasm. As for how it has came off so quickly, your guess is as good as mine. I have strictly followed the diet and at this point it has slowed down for me in the past 5 days. I think the major part of the weight loss was the 3rd day when I woke up and realized I had lost 12 lbs overnight almost. I think alot of that was water weight though. My pants are already getting loose on me(I have benn walking around all day pulling them up and I have on a belt). I don't really know what else to say except HOORAY! I guess my metabolism is a great one. By the way, congrats to you all on your also amazing stories. Great job! As soon as I get pics I will post some.
