  • Big Loss in 10 days but now stuck

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Cindy and I am a newbie. Started the induction on Jun 10th and lost 11.5 lbs in 8 days but now I am stuck here. I gain a lb and lose it the next day and gained back and lost it again. But total lose so far is 11.5.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal to be stuck so early on? I have not cheated and have been drinking the water. Would appreciate any thoughts or advice.

    Thanks,
    Cindy

    Hi Cindy,
Welcome to the scale nightmare! I lost 21 lbs the first 2 weeks, then nothing for 12 days, The 18 lbs in the next 2 weeks, then nothing for a week, then 10 lbs in the next week. I know that is the way my body works. Lose a bunch then nothing, then lose a bunch then nothing. Keep at it the scales will move again. Most will tell yo to stay off the scales, but I know I cannot do that, weigh every day. So I keep in mind the trend my weight loss takes, so I don't get discouraged.

      Hi Amy,

WOWeeeeee.......... Well that is encouraging. It seems I always fall off the wagon when I don't see results on the scale for a few days. But so I will just keep at it and will wait to watch it fall. Hopefully I might still be working on those inches when the scale isn't talking to me. LOL Thanks for the input. It helps to know!

That is good to know Amy! Now I don't have to keep being afraid of "weigh in day". I had similar results in common with C4Cinders.
I try to avoid the scale on a daily basis but do find myself morbidly curious by the 2nd or 3rd day and then I wonder why the weight bounces up and down. I only "officially" record my weight and measurements on paper, every 2 weeks, just to maintain my sanity!!
So tomorrow is an official weigh in day, ugh. Better go drink some more water

cheers to you both for sharing!

Goal # 1 Reduce my waist enough so fitting into a pair of jeans will not make me feel like a sausage with a tight string cinched around my bulging waist.
Goal # 2 Have my thighs become less familiar with one another. I am tired of them rubbing up against each other when I walk.
Goal # 3 Be able to see my back without those flabby rolls under my bra line, you know I could store things in those roll creases, a book to read, small toy etc
Goal # 4 Run a 5k in Sept. and continue this WOE.

It's really common for people to have a little "stall" after induction. It's like your body needs to take stock of what is going on and calm down before it will let you keep dropping off more weight. Make sure that you are measuring yourself too as many people will find that even when they hit one of these little plateaus and stop losing pounds they are losing inches.

            Hi Cindy,
yep it happened to me also, I lost 9 pounds my first week then stalled, started losing now though and not as much as some of the guys on here, but at least I am losing. seems that its every second week I am losing also.
Keep with it and watch your transformation. Best of luck

Hi there ... yeah, I do the weighing myself everyday thing too. And it's a bit silly because the body weight fluctuates so much just through water, time of the month etc. But yeah .. I do it anyway. Don't get discouraged honey. It'll do that uppie downie thing. But stick with it and you will see it going down steadily and consistently. Lotsa luv to you.

Stalling can happen, but remember that muscle weighs more than body fat because it is denser and less liquid. Adipose tissue (body fat) is actually made up of small circular cells filled with liquid. Muscle is not therefore weighs less.

How your clothes are fitting is really going to give you measure of your success!

                Good luck!

Hi again. I am convinced this morning that if you look closely at the underside of your scales you will see "666" in small print. SPAWN OF SATAN THEY ARE!!! (can you tell that mine haven't gone down today!!) I think the how the clothes are fitting gig is a much better indicator. luv to ya.

Its normal ! i had a 4 week pause after induction -- then lost some more -- then paused again-- then lost again... etc etc just hang in there and you will be fine! your body is going to do this at its own pace and as Confucious said " it doesnt matter how slow you go so long as you dont stop!"

Hi C4CINDERS, You've already had great advice here. Just wated to say hi and keep at it. You'll find as you move along in this woe that you learn so much about your body. You'll find the tape measure becoming your best freind. When your body stalls like that your losing inches. Kind of like a thermastat resetting itself. Once it hits a certain point it'll start kicking off the pounds again. If there's one thing this woe and wol has taught me is PATIENCE, remember it's not a race, it's a lifestyle. You're doing great! Keep it up.
