  • 2 Weeks on Induction

    Hey everyone,

I completed my 2nd week on Induction with Dr. Atkins' New Revolution guide on my nightstand. I read it practically every day.

I only lost 1 pound on my second week...but it's that TOM and I haven't gained any weight!!! (Normally, I retain @ 6 pounds of water weight.)

I am not diabetic, but I have also been keeping track of my blood sugar (my father is diabetic and gave me his old glucose monitor).

Before starting Atkins, my blood sugar was ranging from 120-130. Now, my average is a healthy 99.

I have lost a total of 7 inches (even during that TOM).

    So, I am happy!

Thanks for recording all your success stories and struggles!

Fantastic Robyn! Applause for your hard work and your success. I know that as soon as TOM passes you'll have a nice whooshie to confirm what you already know and feel!

What do you plan to do now? Extend the induction or make the move to OWL?

        Re: 2 Weeks on Induction

I plan on staying on Induction for a while longer...I have so much weight to lose.

You know, I checked out the "maintenance portion" of Dr Atkins diet and compared it with the diabetic diet my father is on...funny, it is practically the same porportion and advice. I don't know what critics are concerned about?

Also, I am doing 45 minutes on the treadmill every day and today I was able to increase my speed. I really am feeling awesome. I am also very lucky, so far I have not gone through "the carb flu". (I only had one night that I could not sleep and I think that was because of stress at work OR maybe it's because I have been getting @ 4:30 in the morning to excercise

By the way Emma and Sally...you two are awesome and look fantastic! You really are an inspiration. When I feel like I want to cheat (and I don't have that too much anymore) I sign on and look at your pictures. Thank you for always responding and keeping everyone motivated!

Great to hear that you're able to increase your treadmill speed!
Also was interested in what you said about Atkins maintenance being very similar in proportions/advice given to diabetics. Cool! It really is a healthy way of eating and critics should open their minds and see things as they really are. It would also help if they'd read the book, which I'm positive most don't!

Thanks for the nice compliment Robyn! You'll have Emma and me a blushin!
