Today marks six months since I started Atkins.
February 21st, 2007, I weighed 204 pounds, was having heartburn every night, could feel my heart racing, knew I had borderline high blood pressure and blood sugar. Walking around my park more than twice was just too hard to do. I sneezed all the time and was so tired. Naps were how I survived.
Today, I weigh 57 pounds less, I have no digestive problems at all. My blood pressure and blood sugar are at normal levels. I walk around the park 5 or more times each night, have started lifting weights and do cardio exercises. I exercise 6 days a week now and am feeling stronger than I have since I was in my 20's. My allergies are so much better and I rarely sneeze. I've gone from sleeping 8-9 hours a night to 5-6 and still have more energy than I did before. Naps are a rarity now.
I started out in size 20's--they were getting pretty tight. Sunday night I tried on a pair of size 12 jeans--and they fit!
I found this board 3 or 4 days after I started Atkins, and the menus and support and advice have helped me make this a successful way of life.
I feel great, look so much better and am making changes for the better in my life that aren't necessarily food related, but are caused by taking this chance.
I'm not at goal yet, but I already feel very successful!
