  • My success so far...more to come!

I started Atkins on June 26th, 2003 at (gasp!) 270 pounds. My measurements were as follows:

    Arms- 16"
    Chest- 55"
    Waist- 50.5"
    Hips- 51"
    Thighs- 26 1/4"

Today, I weigh 239 pounds and my measurements are as follows:

    Arms- 14.5" (down 1.75" each!)
    Chest- 51" (down 4")
    Waist- 44.5" (down 6")
    Hips- 46" (down 5")
    Thighs- 23 1/4" (down 3" each!)

For a total of 24.5 inches!!

I LOVE my new WOE! I never thought I would get this far. Never thought I would see the 230's again. But, thanks to Dr Atkins, and all of the wonderful people on this board (Brook and 2big, you are both SUCH an inspiration to me!), I have lost (gotta say it again!) THIRTY-ONE POUNDS!!!

My next mini-goal is 220 by September 10th (my birthday), and once I get there, I will shoot for 199 by Christmas. I am staying on Induction for as long as I can...I'm not bored with my food choices yet, so I think I can safely stay on Induction until at least the first of the year....but to start 2004 at below 200 would be sooooo wonderful! I haven't been under 200 since hubby and I got married in 1996!!

So there it is, my success thus far. I know that I am nowhere near my final goal, but still, I FEEL successful! I have more energy (I just finished painting my daughters bedroom AND laying tile in it! Something I would have badgered hubby to do even a few months ago!), I LOVE to go out and play with my kids now (something I dreaded and put off a few months ago!), and am even *almost* starting to like the way I look....*almost*

For all you newbies out there, or those who may be losing slowly and thinking of giving up...stay strong, stick with it...it CAN be done!

You are nearer to your goal than you were when you began. You are successful. Great job. An inspiration to all.

          Thanks all!

Brook, I LOVE the new pic! You look wonderful! A question, though...if, for some reason, you were never able to lose another pound, would you be happy where you are? I ask because I think you look just awesome, and honestly don't see where you need to lose anymore weight. (I hope that came out as a compliment, that's how I mean it! ) AND..I love the tattoo!! I have 2 of them, one on each ankle, and have wanted another one for a long time (I got the two I have done when I was 23)...so, when I finally break 200, that will be my reward...I will go get my next tattoo...no matter what hubby says! :P
